Just some extra information for the friends at the bar and in the library: Rustam Kasimjanov(Fabis second) joined the german stream yesterday for 5 minutes (he often comentates there as he speaks quite fluently german) to give some insights to this line. He said they have prepared c3 originally for Wijk aan Zee, but they thought its to strong for Wijk, so Fabi played Be2 in Wijk and also won the game. Rustam also said, that they didn't belive Maxime is able to find all moves, but Maxime seemed to do it. But instead of Ne4 Maxime should have gone Ra7, to save the rook, even though it's quite passive. After Ne4, Rustam said there is a bit of hope, that Fabi can win it, even though it was still a difficlut game. Rustam also mentioned that if black finds all moves white has to fight for a draw. Fabi took high risk and got rewarded for it. What a game and what a preparation! Awesome stuff.

I will never understand how over 100 people disliked this video. Antonio puts out the best content, hands down

Fabiano's chess lately has been all out attack Morphey style, he is a total beast

Wow, what a battle. It felt like they were throwing everything at each other, punches, kicks, pots, pans .... Marvelous!

Actually, a knight can sometimes defend against a rook and pawn. For example: #suggestion "Emanuel Lasker vs Edward Lasker, New York 1924"

This preparation was something else. Only Caruana is a worthy adversary for Magnus.

Agad: Maxime knows everything about the Sicilian. Maxime: *loses every single top tier game playing the poisoned pawn variation* 😔

It s not losing but he s just a target right now

I feel like I see Maxime lose so many games in the Najdorf. Sure, I don't see all the games and tournaments MVL plays in, he has to have good reason for playing it so often, but I just feel like I see him lose in his pet line so much. Then you're going to go against Fabi, who expects you to play a Najdorf, and even further the poisoned pawn variation, and then will just force you to play against a supercomputer for 30+ moves. I get that hindsight is 20-20, but it just seems like a terrible idea to even let yourself go down this path.

When i saw the notification, i didn't even need to check the title or thumbnail to know which game it would be. This is pure madness

I watched this live, it was so intense. Fabi is insane, he played like AlphaZero. And MVL defended like stockfish. Insane game!

Just an addendum, Stockfish 13 NNUE+ is probably way stronger than AlphaZero considering it’s better than LeelaChessZero

10:50 "You can go to Knight to F6, but who does this?" ANSWER ; Stockfish 12 does and gives Black an advantage of 0.55 points. Follows 24 Nf4+ , Be6 25 Qxe6+, Qxe6+ 26 Nxe6 Kf7 27 Nc7, Ra7 28 O-O, Rd8, Bc5 ALSO IF 24 Nc7+ (instead of f4) with the intention of grabbing the Rook at A8 that doesn't work and Whites loses instantly because the black King escapes to Kf7 and if Knight takes de Rook at A8 then the other rook forks the White Queen by moving to e8.
