It was so frustrating watching those draws continuously...I guess it's for the best that someone crushed someone with this line..
@shiranaihito9720
@shiranaihito9720 3 жыл бұрын
I mean I think this would not work in anything other than blitz. If it is a line chosen by GMs to draw I guess it is impossible to find an advantage in it. And it would not have worked here if Hikaru had castled either. But I agree it is satisfying to see!
@eragon78
@eragon78 3 жыл бұрын
@@shiranaihito9720 well, the fact its so common is also its downfall. Its possible Nodirbek studied up on some lines in this variation as Hiakru especially has been known to go for draw lines like this. So its very possible he studied up on some lines with the full intention to play the variations and go for a win if Hikaru attempted this line.
@teerificbitch
@teerificbitch 3 жыл бұрын
@@eragon78 its blitz. you cant just study. you need luck which = variation.
@eragon78
@eragon78 3 жыл бұрын
@@teerificbitch you do study up on blitz. Super GMs play studied lines still in blitz. In fact, id argue its almost more important to have studied up lines in blitz because then you can play openings much faster and opponents who HAVENT studied openings are more likely to blunder so you can get quick wins. Vs other strong players, theyll also have memorized and studied many lines, so youll usually get into a mid game without either side blundering, and THATS when you have to have fast reactions and quick calculations. But yea, GMs and Super GMs study lines for blitz. They arent like 1600s who play blitz and just wing it. They actually play theory even at those speeds. And not knowing that theory is going to get you crushed pretty fast, because having to calculate a position in real time is much slower than just playing known theory, and that time matters.

#suggestion Yip vs. Abdumalik at the 2021 Polgar Challenge. It is a blitz game, so I know it is always dangerous to analyze these things, but after your recent video on GM Zhansaya Abdumalik, I'm really interested to see your analysis of more of her games. Plus, it's a very interesting and rarely played variation of the Sicilian, so as a Sicilian player I'm biased :)

Queen takes knight then what? If you capture e7 queen takes e7, rook takes, king takes. Not pretty but not mate and white is down a rook

19. f4 is still pretty good I thought. But, yes, I'll agree after putting the machine on it, the better set up move is 19.____ by far - approximately 3.45 times better. Agadmator should have examined what happens if Hikaru simply advanced the pawn though. All-in-all a very challenging pause the video. Good one.

He saw the castles move when it had to be done, but thought black would had a stronge attack if played. After the game Nakamura show lines for the audience, but he really didn't know what to do when the draw offer was refuse, spending a lot of time thinking.
