What I really like about this ending position is that the white bishop is the laser beam that structure the mate... and that this is the very bishop that Liang decided to move back early in the game to prevent the black knight from taking it, and that is what lead to an unknown position in the first place, plus this bishop never moved again until the end. So this beshop is the real MVP here.

Spectacular comb ination with a very surprise ending. I stopped the video to find the winning move, but I stopped counting when I reached the poition where black played a5. I could see it as completely winning, but I couldn't see how black could prolong this until move 10. And in a real game it's not necessary to count any further. When black is defenseless, it doesn't matter what defense he chooses. Thanks agani for the game.

This was perhaps the first time ever that I not only figured out the winning move, but also looked through the various lines in the same direction that Agadmator did. Last video I was sad that Agad simply said why the move I thought of didn't work as a start and instead showed the winning move, which lapses into the move that I thought of but with one fewer option for the opponent. But this vid the analysis felt complete and befitting of such a great mate.

Absolutely gorgeous mate with two pieces pinned, the queen burying the king rather than helping it, and a long-range bishop being one of the foundations of an actual smothered mate.
