Oh god, that was close but could imagine just how amaze Sebastian and Veo's reactions would be if the emding of Pluto's story was about how his bard friend betrayed him, stabbing him the back killing him. Pluto: "Gemini walking back to finish off my last ally was the last thing I saw before my life faded from eyes" Sebastian: "so you died?" Pluto: "yeah it was a real bad weekend, but I managed to sleep it off after a few days"

As always spoiler warning if you haven't seen of finished the episode yet. 0:00 - Introductions 2:29 - Pluto continues the tale of how he slayed the Apothecaries and their terrible abominations 3:15 - Flashback starts/ opening theme 5:24 - Recap starts 5:54 - Recap ends 8:03 - Galatea find some restorative ointment (don't worry it's store bought not DIY) 9:24- There won't be any horrible stabbing, just horrible slashing 9:45 - Dr.Anders' -slaughterhouse- lab 11:29 - The Ripper (which is CR 15 BTW) 13:06 - Initiative is rolled 13:51 - Round 1: Gemini cast animate objects, animating 8 quills 16:45 - Pluto throws a barrel of suspicious liquid at The Ripper, it takes 14 acid damage and is burning (which I think they forgot about) then tells Lug to read a book like the nerd he is 18:24 - Lug uses its gory display whirling its saw as it splatters bile and visera everywhere. The party makes their saving throws taking 9 psychic damage and are not frightened. However, 6 out of 8 quills fail taking the full 18 and are frightened 20:30 - Gemini gave them life and all they will ever know is fear 21:17 - Galatea polymorphs Pluto into a giant ape then activates her bladesong 21:57 - Dr.Anders cast toxic barrage (pg 192, SCGD) sending poison darts at Galatea, only 2 make it past her shield dealing a total of 28 damage and poisoning her for 1 minute. She keeps concentration on polymorph 24:38 - Round 2: One of the quills deals 4 damage to The Ripper. Gemini then strikes at it twice hitting once for 14 damage, then critting. However, The Ripper is immune to critical hits, so it takes 13 damage. He then uses defensive flourish to get a +3 to his AC 27:09 - Lug uses unstoppable lurch to charge at Gemini 27:52 - Pluto, as an ape, slams his first into the abomination for a total of 46 damage 28:41 - The Ripper saws threw Pluto's ape form and into his body for 20 damage. The Ripper hit a total of 9 times for a total of 180 damage 31:35 - Galatea uses the restorative ointment to cure herself of the poison condition and regains 11 HP. She sends her familiar to give Pluto the help action 32:45 - 2 of the quills save form the fear affect 33:38 - Dr. Anders casat blood worm on Pluto (pg 189, SCGD), he then moves further away form combat 34:59 - Round 3: 3 of the quills stab at The Ripper for 20 damage. Then deals another 14 damage and uses a blade flourish to increase his AC again 36:25 - Pluto bloodies Lug the Ripper, action surging to deal a total of 52 damage to it and using a distracting before using second wind 38:00 - The Ripper lurches at Pluto then misses w/ its attack thanks to lucky (also if The Ripper kills you, you can only be brought w/ the resurrection spell*) *Monty says true resurrection but in the stat block it just says resurrection, which is 7th lvl spell rather than 9th 40:29 - Galatea hits Lug w/ a booming blade attack, dealing 22 damage to it 42:20 - Dr. Andres cast septic shock (pg 192, SCGD) on Galatea, which is counter w/ a 5th lvl counterspell, which is the lvl septic shock is 43:55 - Round 4: 2 of the quills hit The Ripper for 13 damage. Gemini then goes for Dr. Andres face, hitting w/ a defensive flourish for 14 damage and getting a +2 to his AC. The doctors poison blood then sprays out and Gemini takes 14 damage. He then stabs him in the leg (which holds way more blood than the face) for 10 damage and then gets coated in caustic blood for another 14 damage 46:28 - Pluto keeps slashing at Lug for a total of 22 damage, which causes him to lurch at Pluto again 47:34 - The Ripper's saw hits Pluto just once w/ intervention form lucky and silvery barbs. Pluto takes 20 damage form the bone saw then another 15 form the blood worm, which heals Lug for 15 HP 48:51 - Galatea polymorphs The Ripper into a snail, it's a fail snail now 49:46 - Dr. Anders cast poison wave (pg 190, SCGD) reverting the polymorphed Ripper, poisoning Gemini and daling 20 damage to him. Pluto and Galatea only take 10 damage and are not poisoned 51:48 - Round 5: Gemini cast psychic lance on Dr. Anders, causing his head to burst as a disembodied psyche emerges 54:33 - Pluto continues to hack at The Ripper, dealing 25 damage to while shoving it out of melee 56:04 - The Ripper's bonesaw downs Galatea, then continues to shred her body causing her to fail 2 death saves and as the deathblow is about to be dealt Gemini's silvery barbs causes the third attack to miss saving her 58:28 - Galatea makes her death save, thanks to the silvery barbs advantage 59:00 - Round 6: Gemini cast healing word on Galatea, healing her for 7 HP before dealing the killing bow to The Ripper 1:01:23 - Pluto attacks the floating brain for 27 damage 1:02:13 - Galatea reactivates her blade song only to miss w/ her attacks (at least she's not dead) 1:03:19 - (content warning: misophonia) The Psyche sends out hypnotic waves incapacitating everyone 1:04:02 - Round 7: Gemini fails his saving throw and is still incapacitated 1:04:28 - Pluto shakes off the brains hypnotic waves 1:04:48- Galatea fails and is still affected by the brain's waves 1:04:58 - The Psyche posses Gemini's body 1:05:38 - Round 8: A possessed Gemini crits Galatea, downing her again (he just healed her too!) then crits again against Pluto, dealing 22 damage to him 1:07:40 - Pluto whacks the brain out of Gemini, then stabs the psyche for 16 damage. He then shoves Gemini away 1:08:30 - The sound effects are mandatory if you plan on using this monster 1:08:50 - galatea passes her death saving throw 1:09:04 - The Brain misses Pluto w/ its electroshock then teleports away 1:09:41 - Round 9: Gemini heals Galatea again, she restores 6 HP. He then eldritch blast the psyche for 9 damage 1:11:12 - Pluto shoves Gemini out of the way and throws 2 javelins at floating brain for 20 damage 1:11:43 - Galatea fries the Disembodied Psyche w/ a fireball, combat ends 1:14:04 - W/ the nerds gone, the flashback ends 1:17:38 - No! Not potato boy! 1:18:37 - Shout outs and patrons

A monster that can't feel pain shouldn't be immune to crits. I like that no one can crit it but not having a nervous system doesn't determine the damage dealt. You need to add armor or some sort of Regen property to the Ripper for it to actually make sense If someone is hopped up on stuff from a hospital and jump out the window they might not feel the pain but they still took the massive damage to their body....

You can still have mage armor (maybe switched it out at this level) and shield. That will make your AC better than 12 which was lowest it could hit with and with polymorph, hold monster and the likes you have counters to it.

Just a note dudes, in the pdf for the Disembodied Psyche linked in the description, it’s Mental Possession ability still lists the warp witch in the first sentence. I imagine the text was carried over from the witches stat block. Absolutely brutal monsters, I love it. Bless you guys :)

Not really. It's CR15. The party is struggling because they're level 10. A level 15 party has significantly more power at its disposal.
