Bro please make a video on how to differ between dyed agates and natural agates
@AgateDad
@AgateDad 4 жыл бұрын
I've never heard of dyed agates..I just googled it and it seems like companies or shops dye agates to produce a better color..so dyed agates aren't natural agates, and you wont find dyed agates in any rock shop that has class. Natural agates vary in their banding and color, all the agates found on my channel are 100% natural beauties:)

I liked that roundish, two-toned rock you tossed back. That is the kind of rock that is good to for contrast when displaying agates or? The perfect day, with the sun shining through the glowing agates. A good way to display them in your home, is to take a tall, skinny vase and lace a small string of tiny white holiday lights, through the agates. They would glow for sure.

You are incredibly blessed to be able to find agates - here in England uk the easiest thing to pick up is flint chalcedony quartz that family of rocks.. i believe i may have found a small piece of agate or 2 in a farmers field opposite my home (with consent) and i believe i have found a tiny petrified hoof with nails in it now sandstone ..... in my garden ! a bit housebound but still always looking where ever and when ever in my lifetime but this past year or two ..... been collecting randomly and obsessively wanting to know more and wanting to create too ....... been watching you for quite a few months now and you have certainly grown into the life style joyful hobby that i know i have to fight down the envy of ! congrats as well as many thanks for the channel

When I was still able, I used to pick translucent stones like these, on a beach, on an island in the Bay of Fundy. Twice a day the tide would recreate the beach as if it had never been touched. I gathered stones there for over 30 years and there were as many the last time as there was on the first trip. A suggestion for ya. Carry a laser pointer to check stones for translucency. Try it at home on some of the stones you already have and you'll see why I suggest this. Happy hunting.

@@AgateDad I was in Kenosha Wisconsin. The beaches had been super public. I did find a gorgeous bone fossil from something years ago but I lost it over time. Have you ever visited the Virginia beaches or northern California beaches? They are amazing! Virginia has fossilized sea shells and the California beaches are filled with agates! I have been finally digging into my collection and I have started tumbling the smaller stones. I do it the hard way because I am low on finances. Aka Mom life. But I did recently post some videos of a few items I have found over the years. The fossils in Virginia are absolutely everywhere! California has gemstones, fossils and opals up the wazoo! Definitely something you should look into for a family trip someday. Thank you for the response and I apologize for the rambling. I currently have a 3 year old screaming in one ear about a pony and a 6 year old asking me for video games.🙌🤣

I was hunting for artifacts on my father's traditional hunting grounds....I found a bunch of red translucent stones identical to the agate in your video at 2:52. Some with banding some without. They averaged between 1-3 inches. Something about them urged me to keep them. I must have had 2.5kg. Unfortunately l needed the room for artifacts. So they wound up back in the ocean....I wish l had seen your videos sooner. Great content. Awesome editing. Keep it up brother!

Days like this are the reason we keep coming back, no matter what the weather does! Nice Bag o' Treasures you got there Taylor. That nodule at 10:20 may surprise you and be an agate. I do think, if I had known my love for rockhounding back then, I could have gotten him interested since I think he just enjoyed being outdoors.
