i think teen showcased he’s just like his mother. when they get emotional their powers take more control over them. and since teen was the closest with alice, nobody seemed to care that she died they were all just moving on soo that probably made him really upset and he just took it out on all of them. rio was probably collecting alice’s body, which is why she wasn’t there at the end.

Yeah also earlier with how fast they were to turn on Agatha. From the start Teen has been trying to make them a proper coven and Alice even was willing to save Agatha in spite of the insults and other stuff. She wanted to save her and died for it. Teen would have been pushed to a breaking point as more die and the rest don't care first sharon and then alice

The way I think about the reason why the others were able to move on quickly because they lived longer than teen. They live in many different centuries, and essentially went through a lot of witch hunts too and in order to live so they had to pack their motions up real quickly and move onto the next cuz that normally how they survived imo.

During Agatha's second possession Rio dissappears and only comes back when Teen tells Agatha to not touch Alice's body, one more proof that she's death, besides her laughing when the ouija says death is with them. I only noticed Rio dissappearing during that scene bc I was super excited to see her reaction to hearing Nick calling Agatha, I still think Rio was close to Nick too, maybe a parent as well?

What if this whole episode is just part of Agatha's trial, including the moment when Teen's identity was revealed? The next episode could be a continuation of it, and by the end, the sigil is lifted because it’s no longer needed-since they’ve already discovered Teen's identity through the trials. Or maybe it’s just one of Lilia's premonitions and hasn’t happened yet, since the episode starts with Lilia waking up after seeing the Salem 7 saying they left the door open for the summoning spell. I'm probably just grasping at straws, but who knows?

I think the destruction of the Darkhold with Scarlett Witch's power created what she wanted the most and brought her kids back but, by doing so, she died but here is Rio Vidal/ Death and the Witches'road to renegotiate that. Him and Rio appeared at the same time. It's possible they were together all along. He summoned Death and she had conditions to bring his mother back. She wanted her revenge on Agatha and whatever happened at the Witches' road.

They both were trying to knock her out of the spell in different ways, Rio through her history with her, Teen through his knowledge of her and witchcraft, and both of them consistently tried to get her to emotionally blow up, probably trying to trigger a magic explosion of some kind. It'd make sense that Billy would team up with Death since they both have beef with Agatha and few beings would be powerful enough to help an inexperienced witch, even a child of Wanda, to defeat/outsmart/kill Agatha.

I've seen others say it but Billy (just going to call him that) probably expelled the three of them from the road because he doesn’t think they're worthy of having power. Agatha got the chance to steal Alice's power and did, if she meant to, is a different question. She gets power, and immediately, she's back to regular Agatha. Then neither Jen nor Lilia seemed to care thar Alice was gone, Jen said getting power is all it is abour for all of them and Lilia just says death comes for them all. Alice was the closest thing he had to a friend on the road. Rio wasn't there, but I feel she would have been able to sense how he was feeling and maybe could have played him to stay on the road.

I think this is Rio’s trial instead of Agatha’s. At the end of the previous trials, Jen (seemed to) got her power back, Alice broke the curse. However, Agatha’s power (absorb from Alice) seems to evaporate after the trail. Instead, Rio got the body. And ⚠️⚠️SPOILER ALERT⚠️⚠️ According to merch, Rio is confirmed to be Death. At the beginning of the trial, Rio said it was Agatha’s trial due to her being a killer. However, Rio herself is related to death as well since she collects bodies. And the ouija said Death was with them. But the ghost was Agatha’s mother who was probably evoked by Rio I think. And the trial tests the witch’s skill. But in this trial, I don’t think Agatha was actually tested like Jen and Alice before. Instead, more likely Rio manipulated this to get Alice’s body. And she did get to punish Agatha to some degree, by forcing her to kill Alice and reminding her that her son was dead.

yes! thank you for pointing out the weird effect that appeared when agatha manifested Alice's stolen magic! no one else seems to be talking about this. It did seem like it was evaporating or decaying, and Agatha with stolen magic could not defend against two mind controlled people?? This all leads me to think this trial was a trick(by the salem 7, they went through one of them before starting it) or a premonition of Lilia(episode starts with her dream). But I could be grasping at straws because I do not want Alice to die :(

I think Nicholas Scratch was a kid, and he accidentally zapped his mom with his powers, and she killed him. It seems that this episode showed Agatha has no control over taking powers from others. I think this ability of hers is an automatic self-defense. This is what led to her mother getting coven to try take her down, but same happened to her. And Agatha trapped by her ability just became the person she was always gonna be seen as cause no one listens when she saus she didn't mean to. We see them back together in clips, and its Agatha with Billie. I think they'll end up finally listening and realizing truth about Agatha. And i think this blood moon trial was Billie's (Teens). Cause this wasn't a phase of moon and more an extra bit like him. Poor Agatha can't catch a break. Even if she tries to explain, no one will ever believe or listen to her. Just like no one believed Wanda when she said she had no control when creating the hex.

I agree with you that this is Billy’s trial. A blood moon, which signifies family to me, and Agatha and her mother as well as Nicholas Scratch, her son, with Billy at the end with his mother tie in. It felt like how would Billy feel with learning about Agatha’s backstory but also how she gets her power. And then he got his power and made a similar choice with how they interpret that Agatha hurts others to get her power. It was also a Teen slumber party theme.

What did the Ouija board spelled out first = Death = Rio (I saw the Death Card released with the dagger the same as Rio's) Rio even laughed. Rio also mentioned "That is a ghost, I hate ghosts." She got real hostile when she knew Evanora was going to take Agatha ("No way!") Rio's desire is to collect Agatha's body for herself alone. It might be Rio's trial, not Agatha's. This is Rio's trial of wanting to PUNISH Agatha (?) We also have 4 more episodes left, so it can't be Agatha's trial already.

I have a theory that goes back to when Agatha revealed her true self in Wandavision. She told Wanda that she came to Westview because she sensed ‘the afterglow of so many spells cast all at once’. I think when she has magical power flowing through her veins she can sense the ambient mystical aura of magic users and their spells - as soon as she absorbed Alice’s power she got that aura sense back. She sensed Teen’s aura and immediately recognised it as similar to Wanda’s Chaos Magic. Despite the sigil spell (that an interview with a showrunner alludes) he placed on himself.

I’m not sure if the Salem 7 have to face any trials at all as they may not manifest on the road after Agatha’s coven completes them but this will likely mean they also don’t benefit from going down the road. You’ve got to remember they bypassed the normal rules of entering the road by following the summoning spell used to call Rio. The way it seemly worked with Rio is she didn’t face any challenges prior to the one she faced with the coven so assuming trials are based on your location on the road then the Salem 7 “may” have faced the fire trial as their first one.

I think the whole episode was a premonition by lilia. The episode starts with lilia waking up from a premontion but I don't think she actually woke up. If you notice she has been speaking about misconceptions about witches the whole show and this episode had a lot of them being used. Also everyone was out of character for where we are in the story. The other witches wouldn't turn on agatha that quickly after last episode and jen and lilia's reactions after alice dies are way to muted. Plus jen calling teen a familiar and agatha calling him pet is weird since they have bonded with each other now and there is no possible way for agatha to even consider that teen is billy let alone to be confident about it.

Saw someone also having this theory on reddit and i’m really conflicted. During one of Lilia’s premonition during the trial, she said something along the line of “the first time was worse,” and if this theory is correct, this has to be Lilia complaining while being stuck in some kind of groundhog day timeloop situation. Lilia also mentioned her having the ability to “read time.” And everyone’s besides Rio was acting really off, like you said. Alice and Lilia had almost no lines. Jen was weirdly cold after bonding with the coven many times previously. I don’t think they would have just moved on from the trial after what happened to Alice. Why am I conflicted? Bc Disney’s writing or directing could just have been really messy this episode, and what happened was just not well produced hence all the confusion. It also could simply make sense that Billy is a teen lashing out on the messed up coven as Lilia and Jen turning their back on Alice.

So Rio told Agatha that Teen wasnt hers then Nicolas being the ghost doing all that trial just confirmed to Agatha that Nicolas was gone. Now she has some of her "purple" back she is going back to full villian mode

Just assuming it’s not really happening, at least to the degree shown. Think part of Agatha’s punishment is not only the fact it’s not her son, but it’s the son of her enemy. Also think it’s a double test, which the second part testing Billy with the fact that yes, part of this is being tied to power.

I counted four animals that made it through (four of The Salem 7). Is it possible that they possessed each of the four women in this episode and released Alice in time to die heroically and turn Billy and the coven against Agatha? With the exception of Billy, they turned on Agatha abnormally fast, so I wonder if they were possessed by four of The Salem 7 or the dead mothers of the four Salem 7s that made it to the road.
