It actually makes sense as to why Death couldn’t just take Billy and Tommy’s souls without their consent like all other souls. Her being THE green witch means she’s tied to nature, but the Maximoff brothers aren’t natural. They were created purely through chaos magic, so being “artificial souls” means she can’t just take them, they have to give themselves over willingly otherwise they, or at least Billy, with keep reincarnating.

I read someone's comment that Billy and Tommy's souls are not Wanda's making. They are Demiurge and can latch onto a souless body and at the moment Wanda having the babies, they chose to be there hence the line "Thanks for choosing me to be your mom". But I don't know if it's true

She magically conceived them (basically fertilized her own eggs with magic) but she carried them to term and actually delivered them (albeit very quickly). Monica says it herself that she helped deliver the twins so they were actually in her before being born . Their bodies were made with magic but the souls are probably naturally born souls. Wiccan just happens to be destined to be the demiurge because of Wanda's magic affecting him from conception.

I don't think it's that they specifically are any more able to avoid being taken by Rio than anyone else. After all, we see ghosts, which means that other souls can also slip through the cracks. The only difference is that unlike ghosts, Billy and by-proxy his brother, have the means to move their spirits into new bodies. Stealing new lives as opposed to being trapped in purgatory like ghosts, or moving on like other souls.

@jacobmiller2663 There are a lot of things that aren't introduced yet about Tommy in the comics. It is confirmed by Master Pandemonium that he is more than just as speedster. After all, Tommy is also the son of the scarlet witch, a nexus being.

None of that would’ve saved them. The road wasn’t real, the trials were not real. The nature of a coven of other witches puts you on a road of self discovery. That’s it and that’s all.

Do you think if they would’ve put their powers together at the beginning of the road it would’ve ended the same way? Or was everything a result of Billy’s own reasoning/ his NEED for the road? He wasn’t leaving there without Tommy, that’s why it ended, why Agatha still didn’t get her powers…

A lot of people have asked "how much of it was real?" after this episode. The answer is, all of it. Wanda and Billy don't just create illusions or mental projections, they actually warp reality itself. Regardless of whether or not they traveled the Witches' Road of legend, or if it even existed prior to Billy seeking out Agatha, everything they went through was real because Billy made it real.

Aubrey Plaza’s Death is now my absolute favorite version of Death I’ve ever seen. She’s terrifying yet merciful, dark and funny, all ways we think of Death in real life. And the added lore of her being THE green witch fits so perfectly that I want it to be part of the comics canon. Especially her new design! The green and black outfit is so much better than her original look of just a boring purple hooded robe. Not to mention the far creepier yet beautiful look of her face being normal from the eyes up and skull for the rest. And now that we finally have Death in the MCU we NEED to see her and Deadpool together, hell make it a throuple with Vanessa.

An interesting point is that Agatha used the spells she learned from her coven on The Road. She used that package with something inside to make a circle of protection by reciting the words Alice says in the 4th episode, tries to make the healing “potion” like Jen did in the same episode by reciting what she said, and follows the advice that Lilia said about a supposed “she” calling her a “coward” and that moment being the one when she should "hit the deck".

THAT Road was real and so was everything that happened on it, just like Wanda's hex. Her kids were both ALWAYS REAL, despite idiots (including Dr. Strange) constantly saying they were never real. This show confirmed once and for all that they were always real. Their physical bodies just couldn't exist outside the hex because Wanda inadvertently tied their existence to the hex due to her magical inexperience. "Magic on auto-pilot," just like Billy. So, to reiterate, he clearly made that version of The Road a reality but Rio knew The Road as a concept was never real before that. That's why she said what she did.

Just like Wanda created the hex and everything that happened or was created (like Billy & Tommy) was REAL, everything that happened on The Road was REAL (the powers, deaths, etc.). That's why Wanda was so angry when everyone, including Dr. Strange, kept telling her that her children were never real. They were always real. This show proves that beyond any doubt. Their souls were REAL; their physical bodies just couldn't exist outside the hex because she inadvertently tied their existence to it, due to her magical inexperience. "Magic on auto-pilot;" just like Billy. He wanted The Road to be real so desperately and deeply that he subconsciously created it and everything that happened was REAL. He didn't intentionally cause any of it to happen, it just happened. He's "so much like his mother," indeed. Wow.

In the battle between Agatha and Rio, Agatha used the knowledge she gained from her coven: Alice's protection spell, Lilia's divined advice, and Jen's healing spell. These (except Lilia's) are all analog forms of magic which anyone can do, even powerless witches.

In the event I don't find this channel again before the end episode is up I will say what is the most impressive about this show is watching it win over it's most devoted critics. I typically do not care for critics professional or otherwise because most often the hold the arts to their own merits instead of the arts as well neglect the arts target audiences (me in this shows case for sure). And all that was in play for sure here yet by I would say the episode before this until the end I watched the most outspoken change their minds and end up rating this as one the best MCU shows to date. As they if you win over your critics you truly made it.

I think pairing episodes 8 and 9 is more for the benefit of 9 than 8. Episode 8 has a great rug-pull ending and could stand by itself for a week. The problem is that episode 9 is the denouement that follows the climax. It is wonderful that we get a whole episode dedicated to that, but I could understand how someone could be disappointed if they had to a week for it.

Sasheer killed this. She was just so good at all of it - the humor, the banter, the emotional scenes. She and Patti were so good together in Ep 7. I was watching the odd reaction with a comment hoping for a Jen spin-off, and my reaction was, "For such a minor character? Unlikely. Hopefully they'll include her character in something." Then I was thinking, Agatha was just a villain in Wandavision. The whole reason we have THIS show is because Kathryn Hahn killed that role. I think that if Sasheer is interested, they'd be fools not to reprise the character somewhere. Somewhere with good writing, I mean. :-)

I also think that Death limits how much power she uses, because she cant cause death on someone directly by her actions, its against the cosmic rules and it shows in this series that one she seems like a real stickler for following the rules and maintaining the "sacred balance" and two, she wouldn't want to get in trouble with her higher ups, mainly the Living Tribunal for breaking the cosmic rules of the multiverse, so Death knows how to limited her power to where one can fight against and be responded back to, but without causing fatal harm. She still is shown to be incredibly powerful here and wasn't harmed in anyway, and kept getting back up and seemed like she could keep on going and going and going. They were probably trying her patience though.
