That was the Shadow King, who had captured the consciousness of Lenny at the moment of her death and was using her form to manipulate David by appearing as his friend. There is no reason for Shadow King to be using her appearance here.

This is my most hyped marvel project ever. Joe Locke's "Teen" (dont want to spoil) is my favorite character in all of media. Ive been dreaming of seeing him on screen for almost 20 years. Since this was announced I've had high hopes for it.
