The great Hercule Poirot Theme! We performed this as an encore to our Harrogate recital and the audience LOVED it!!
The Theme from Poirot is actually entitled 'The Belgian Detective' and is Composed by Christopher Gunning. Performed famously by Stan Sulzmann during the iconic intro to ITV's Agatha Christie's Poirot TV Series, this much loved and iconic theme tune is always a pleasure to perform live.

We find it fairly tricky to recreate the studio version with just a saxophone and piano, but I’m sure you’ll be able to find that original version elsewhere on KZbin. Enjoy! 🎷

i wasn't speaking about the differencies between the quality of the record and quantity of instruments (studio vs cover). the tempo was the thing here. as if suffocating. original has different accelerations and slowdowns. it gives you time. here we are as if on a race. as if the piano forces us run faster than we could do it gracefully, with pauses, with culminations. original is like perfect beautiful waves. music is not only about perfect notes. the notes were perfect. everything is about tempo, pauses, culminations. it's half to winning it. is it hard to play the same tempo and give same pauses vs it was done on studio version? does it take us studio equipment and a director? obviously not. only training and attention. and ability to hear critics from the conductor. was there some? are they an unnecessary profession? i think the only difference between the two versions is not about money and the quantity of instruments. it is in the conductor. the studio version had him. there was no need in trying to catch up. here as if beautiful sax was trying to catch up for the piano which forgot about his existance and was just on a race. internal conductor didn't do his job. is it too expensive and too studio-related to be done? why should I search for the original version "elsewhere" if i know two instruments can easily do this too, same sentually, same accurately, same magically. sax is magic, piano is magic. these two instruments sound just perfect in the video. it's just the timing. why offense? notes are always an objective thing, so are tempo and pauses, aren't they. notes were perfect here. if we ignore the tempo, why would we perfectly follow notes. let's not then too.
