Agdam revival: Azerbaijani government wants to transform the city

Agdam was once a bustling city, home to about 40,000 people before Armenian forces took it in 1993.
Since then, the area has been a buffer zone.
Nearly 30 years later, when Azerbaijani forces entered Agdam, they found it deserted.
But plans for revival could mean it becomes a home again.
The Azerbaijani government says it is determined to transform regained territories like Agdam into areas of high-tech development based on what it calls the "smart city" concept.
But that could take years.

Landscape photography wasn't that much developed before soviet union years all over the world ..war started right after Soviet union, city occupied by armenia for 30y., liberated by Azerbaijanian army in Nov '20

@Xandervk, The city would have probably seen much more advancement than that if it wasn't occupied by the Soviets/Russians. Wouldn't have mattered much though as it would have turned into a ghost town anyway after the massive ethnic cleansing of it's population by the Armenians.

The brutality and pettiness of the Armenian army on full display that they would destroy the city and plant landmines after their defeat was imminent. Azerbaijan needs some of those mine-detecting rats which are being used in Cambodia to clean up the mines. Hopefully Agdam is able to flourish soon. 🇦🇿🇵🇰🇹🇷

Thank you for your positive comment Hamza. Azerbaijanis can and will build all Karabakh to its glory because it is their homeland. For unfortunate Armenians the most important motive is historical revenge for the centuries gone, that is why they destroy and set fire to Karabakh. This revenge ideology has been thought to most of the Armenians from childhood, but sure there are some good and Armenian intellectuals who understand that for prosperity and peace one need to cooperate with neighbours. Let's hope they learn this lesson.

We don't need to forget the historical lessons. hundred thousands of Azeri refugees and their children would not forget the well-documented atrocities done by Armenian forces with the backing of Russia. However, at the end of the day, people need to put the past behind and look forward, otherwise, they will be trapped forever in their own story. If the French and Germans live with each other and build a strong union after what happened in WWI, then I'm optimistic any other nations can do this if they choose to. It seems like Armenian diasporas are the ones deciding the fate and policy of Armenia. Diaspora often dowels in the past when it deals with the concept of a homeland, so no wonder they would not be the best people to understand what needed to be done in Armenia and its policy. If Armenia would have not occupied Karabakh and other %20 of Azerbaijani land back in the 90s Armenian people would've been in a much better situation be it economically and peace wise, both in Armenia and Karabakh. In such a scenario Armenian citizens of Azerbaijan would be sharing the prosperity in Azerbaijan and Armenia would be active members of Caucasus countries, like Georgia. What do you think?

Over the past 5,000 years, Palestinians have lived on their indigenous land far longer than Jews, and Jews were not the first inhabitants of that land. So even if you conflate Judaism and Israel, which are very different, there still is no basis for that land "belonging to Israel" lol, because that country didn't exist before 1948. The revival of the city will depend on armenia. Turkey and azerbaijan got granted a road link through armenian territory in syunik region ofcourse controlled by Russia. In order for the city to prosper turkey and azerbaijan will have to rely heavily on the road link to nakhichevan and ofcourse armenia and Russia!
