White Sands Isle is one of the zones connected to Tortage - a starting zone in Age of Conan, MMO developed by Funcom, released in 2008. It is a tropical island area inspired by the short fantasy story "The Pool of the Black One" by Robert E. Howard.
"Pictish barbarians spread across the Barachan Isles like a cancer. While Tortage Island has the walls of the city to hold back the degenerate brutes, White Sands Isle is one of the lands in the archipelago chain with no such hive of civilization. Here the Picts lay claim to whole swaths of the island, and they defend their territory with typical Pictish violence."
