The opening cutscene for "A Perfect Martyr" was stronger in the original because of the use of music. In the original, the description of Joan's trial and execution had no music, only the tolling of a bell. The music did not start until Guy Josselyne said "her death is not in vain." This use of sound effects and music made a much stronger contrast between the despair felt at the loss of France's hero and the chance to rally and finish the war once and for all.

The Dauphin, in regret of not saving Joan, executed the advisors for treason. The method of their end was more merciful than what they deserve, even in the king's mind."
