I just hope they’re placeholders. Some devs who recorded their voice to get a sense of the pace in the animations. Hopefully, the voice actors will be different in the final release.

@@atiqbirb8352 I don’t think so, they sound pretty human to me. But we’ll see. If this was the real deal, Microsoft still has a few weeks to rework the voice parts of the game. A lot of people are displeased with the casting and overall delivery of these actors. It’s like the most complained thing I’ve heard so far from Retold.

I honestly don't vibe with the new voice acting. It feels flat and borderline directionless. Arkantos sounds almost too young. He doesn't exhibit the same level of confidence and authority as the original And Athena just sounds worse. The accent, like with Arkantos, is totally fine, but the original's soft voice really let on that she knew more than what she was letting on and that she was something beyond mortal. It just sounded more fitting for a goddess of war and wisdom.

My theory is why the voice line replacement is due to potential new campaigns (dlc) including old characters, so the voice actor change was necessary

Original had an amazing mission design and map layout, the voice acting on the original was spot on for the time and it holds up nicely even today. Original Arkantos sounds a lot, more experienced and sounds better overall, I don't really care for an accent since the og sounded better. I really hope they didn't ruin Ajax, his gruff voice was a good reason to stay on your toes when building a trojan horse back in the day.

Ive noticed in the few missions ive seen thay they've redesigned them a bit, like here they've taken out your town centre so that new players don't have to worry about economy much until the second mission, and old players can't over-macro their way to victory

They could've added sooo much stuff, like lip animations, or sailors rowing the ships instead of automated rows 😂😂. If you're doing a remake, you've gotta do it right. The campaign was a big part of this game, and they should respect it.

Nah man cutscenes look like mobile game. Why should I see them like cartoon. Previous cutscenes and normal subtitles were good

Curious why they made atlantis an existign greek island on the map, instead of that fake island off spain in the og. Voice acting is fine, but man I will miss the old ones.

Ajax's voice actor, Charles Rocket, sadly passed away in 2005 so they would have to recast him if they didn't use his old lines.

Remake rules 101 don't try to fix something that doesn't need fixing. Graphics and gameplay? Yes with the hardware and software now you can. The VAs try so hard and can't match the OG Bring back the old voices!!!
