The idea of giving Skeletons a personality sounds awesome. Aos seems to give the undead a lot of flavor that and they are just cool. I hope lore gets expanded on them I would love a book on a barrow kingdom of sentiment skeletons doing their own thing. That for all the cool undead lore videos

Great video! I built a Barrow Empire force for my girlfriend. Basically a great king leaves to fight the forces of chaos during the age of chaos and never returns. His lady and queen prays to the gods for his return but none hear her plea, none but the lord of death...and so her King returns fleshless with a form glowing with bale fire his eyes beaming with the promise of the grave. She screams endlessly until she is consumed by it passing from life and into death, now she lives again an endless horror a specter of grief next to her beloved lord and husband...still writting for the rest of the force 😁

Hey, can skeletons still be supported by vampire count style creatures like Vargulf, terrorgheist, zombies etc?
@voxkine93856 жыл бұрын
For all the shit AoS gets (and rightly so in a lot of ways), they’ve really done a good job making the undead factions more interesting than before.
@HelghastTrooper5 жыл бұрын
It started off with a wet fart, but, if you ask me, AoS has grown quite the beard as of the past year. I think the gameplay is superb (possibly even better than the modern 40k rules and whatnot), but not only that, the story is also getting better. Less clusterfucky than before, but still a bit messy here and there.
@InquisitorThomas5 жыл бұрын
Personally I disagree, I don't like how Nagash centric the undead factions are, back in Warhammer Fantasy the Undead was all about a ton of individuals using their strength of will and unlimited ambitions to try to become the dominant being in existence, with AOS undead you're either: A. Loyal to Nagash, B. a scheming servant of Nagash that has no hope of actually usurping Nagash's power and your best prospects is outrunning Nagash's retribution, or C. The Flesh Eater Courts.
@leviwatson89264 жыл бұрын
@@InquisitorThomas in fantasy, Nagash was arguably always going to become a god. He was always the most powerful.

I picked up AoS a few months ago with a small Death army. I have since then been steadily expanding my horde of skeletons. I am absolutely in love with the Deathrattle units and their aesthetic and theme. Seeing this video was really cool! Quite interesting idea to create such a story around the Wight Kings, might do something with that..

I very much love skeletons, just how they have the shape of humans, yet they lack the expressive features that humans have. Skeletons have such a hollow face, yet are able to be great warriors.

Started reading Nagash the undying king on your recommendation. So far very enjoyable for a first book and its adding character for things i thought would end up being simplistic. Thank you for the videos!

Love your videos! I'd love to see more like this exploring all the little sub factions and key characters. This video has given me such a good idea to do. I've never been into Bretonnia, but I have a wight king, skeleton warriors, black nights and a female vampire. Maybe the king loved the vampire and it wasn't unrequited, but he wouldn't accept the blood kiss until he saw himself worthy. He dies and is resurrected by lady vampire and he willingly serves her in undeath with his host of chivalric deathrattle.

A death rattle faction where the leader was a great general and leader of a small group of city states. His kingdom was suddenly set upon by a terrifying and powerful force, a massive and mindless wandering death rattle horde, and although it looked hopeless he devised a brilliant and complex war strategy that would have let them win, but the enemy was horrific and vast, and his generals lacked faith, and so they would lose their nerve and retreat when he had ordered them to hold, and stop for rest when he told them they must make haste, and the enemy was so terrifying his people would be routed far to easily. Normally times were peaceful and there was plenty so these people were not prepared for fear and suffering like the kind faced in war. And so, after a shot and frustrating conflict, our leader’s people were wiped out, a tragedy if you consider that if they had just kept it together and listened their leader they probably would have survived. After death he was so angry with himself and his people that he couldn’t rest. He rose again, and this time, he was gifted the one thing he so desperately wanted during the slaughter of his people, the ability to make them obey him. He raised them from the ground and dominated their will. They still had the basis of who they were as a living person, but they are completely unable to defy him now. After his people lived again he tracked down the mindless horde that had destroyed their kingdom and he dominated them, adding their number to his own. He sees his people now like ignorant children, who, if given freedom, would soon get themselves destroyed, and because of their link this is also how his undead citizens now view themselves. He now is driven only by his obsession with keeping his kingdom safe and flourishing by any means possible, even if now it is a kingdom of death. Lol your video made the faction sound so cool I just had to have a go at creating a random narrative for it real quick. Thanks for the creatively inspiring content.

Then my party disbanded and I came back in 2017 to AoS starting with Death. Hopefully they bring out some new Vampire Models and Wight King on horse. Keep ip the good work. Really enjoying your videos with the nice pictures in the back that underline the atmopshere =)

So I could use my Tomb kings for a Deathrattle army with an Egyptian theme then? Just Replace the Words 'Barrow' or 'Grave' with 'Tomb' in most cases. Skeleton warriors would still be Skeleton warriors, just with an Egyptian theme. Maybe they come from some desert waste in the realm of death? If I took Neferata, it would certainly still be in theme with her Aesthetic.
@2Tough6 жыл бұрын
You can and should. Warriors are warriors, no matter what kind of bling they wear lol. Just use the new warscrolls, make sure your opponent can tell what unit is what and get gaming :)
@yehiahuzayyin7972 Жыл бұрын
You technically don't even need Neferata. Canonically, there are Deathrattle kingdoms that work alone without any ties to the Vampires at all.

I'm a bit late, just getting into Age of Sigmar, but for argument's sake, if a standard skeleton warrior loses it's arm in battle, can it reattach the arm? Does it have to be their specifically arm or any random arm? I used to find the old fantasy undead interesting but i never liked the old models, they always looked a little cartoonish for my liking, but they look cool now

thanks for the video, actually I didn't know about that. I was always unhappy with the "old" undead lore as I wanted a Skeleton Army not being mindless and independent from Vampires and so on but also no Khemri. Therefor I just came up with my own lore with more "old fashioned horror-movie"-flair to them. More or less close to what you tell here...great
