I have watched 2 of your lore videos (Ironjawz, Moonclan) and was very helpful. But in truth I didn't subscribe till I heard you use the word "tricksy" to describe Moonclan Grots, LOL! Tolkien spawned it all. Props.

Really nice video! Would you be interested in doing a lore video on the underworld of Shyish? Still having trouble wrapping my head around what an underworld constitutes and what the difference is between the actual main land of Shyish and a random underworld. So many questions about thisXD

I hope we get to see a battletome for these guys soon (though I'm more of a greenskinz kind of guy myself), the night goblins were super cool in fantasy, and like you say they are pretty iconic. It's also one of those armies that has a relatively solid model range already, so GW could probably get away with just releasing one or two new kits and a battletome, though I feel like that applies to a decent chunk of the AoS armies that use the old fantasy models.

I totally agree! If all the old factions got the Daughters of Khaine treatment (2-3 new kits and a battletome) my hear would be happy :)

Agreed, I honestly think we will see more of that in the future (along with brand new stuff, like when Slaanesh finally gets a release), though I suspect some factions like the Collegiate Arcane and Ironweld Arsenal to remain as support ally options. Heck, they could even give the greenskin factions a combined sort of tome with different options (kinda like legions of Nagash), but that would depend on how the factions interact with each other in AoS, I don't know if they live together like they did in Fantasy (for the most part anyways) or if they live in more separate societies.

This isn't really a lore question, it's more of a video request or idea. I think it would be cool of you did a video about all the discontinued armies. Warhammer has so much history that I think it's still relevant for AoS to know more of the world that was. Cheers

One thing that Im really getting exited about in AoS is how much Greenskin related novels there are, in comparison to 40k where we really have like 2 comic books, at least from the Orks point of view.

I love the little gobbos/grots, and I think a moonclan specific battletome is on it's way very soon.... Unfortunately, I'd much rather see them as part of a larger Greenskin/grot battletome that allows for cool specializations within the army. Just because I'm not a big fan of "micro armies". It can be offset by adding a brickton of new models like for nighthaunt, but I like the larger "consolidating battletomes" best so far. I could see a LoN style approach, where the whole Grot army gets fed mushrooms to give them thematic stupor/powerup mechanics (for all units in your army), could work really well. A Grot army where you choose a "bad moon fanaticism" or a "spiderfang fanaticism" giving different rules to your army and extra bonuses for the subfaction specific units could make it an army that has a ton of build options without devolving into mono-build armies... A trap so many of the order armies has fallen into. For example: I select a Grot army with "bad moon devotion". - Moonclan units get better, tempting the player to use those units more, but don't limit him to only those units. - Mushrooms are handed out like candy before the battle, so all Grot units gain an extra benefit (maybe the shrooms steel their nerves somewhat). This would allow for very cool thematic armies, it would not limit the player too much with clunky ally limitations and would be an army that gives you more collection possibilities then ever before.

I think it would be cool if before the battle you roll a dice. That dice determines what moon is out on this battle. The different moons give different bonuses/ weakness.

I was thinking a moonclan grot shaman could summon bad moons to cover the existing for the buffs and debuffs. I am toying with the thought of the spells also being random and or effected on how many grots you have powering the waaagh! energy.

i would like to see them not only benefit from mushrooms, but also weaponize it (with grenadiers or artillery) maybe causing enemy units to act unpredictably, low levels could effect movement or charging, high levels could cause enemy units within 3' of each other fight as if it was the combat phase.

I would love the idea of a Moon Clan Goblins battletome. Prefer that it comes out before Slaanesh because Chaos has gotten a lot just like order. The mushroom and moon phase mechanics sound awesome. One thing they need as a whole is a bravery buff spell/ability because battleshock tends to hurt them pretty bad currently. I could also see them having a trap setting ability that could be their way of debuffing the enemy. Overall I'm excited at the idea of a goblin army officially joining the ranks of destruction... WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!!!!!!!!

@ stew - not only do i believe the grots will get all of those and more, i also feel they may be destruction's universal ally (just like stormcast is for order). they'll fight alongside anyone, but it the end, it's to further their own interests. @ nic - i have no inside information, but using logic to connect some dots (which isn't the wisest thing at the moment, we have so little info), i'm thinking cause grots have so few robust heroes, they may get more of them (in number) and will have someway of boosting their command point pool and taking advantage of the inspiring presents thing. i think the look out sir thing (today's snippet on the community page) suits them as well.

I love goblins in every fantasy game, always so reckless, zany and violent! However, I have to say I prefer the Gitmob Grots, at least aesthetically. I much prefer leather armour and bizarre contraptions to black robes and bouncing tooth monsters 😝

I’m one of the ‘tin foil hat’ people on this one lol. If the Malign Portents heroes are any indication we should hopefully see Moonclan Grots next! I’ve got a slew of old Night Goblins from the Battle For Skull Pass box set that I’m itching to get converted and painted up! I’d burst at the seems if they released new squig models!
