Awesome as always. Do you think that there will be a connection to the Lumineth? The whole warrior monk temple background and dedication to a magical beast would fit perfectly. The symbol of the Ur-Phoenix is identical to the rune of the Hyshian Sun Spirit (former symbol of Asuryan), and then the whole pilgrimage of Annointed to the Hysh. On the other hand it’s a Cities army already, and if they don’t update the models the wouldn’t really fit in with the new style (although the Phoenix guard has aaaalmost as extravagant helmets).

I'm pretty certain we'll see a link to the Sun god, Tyrion, to the Pheonix Temple, and the Ur-Pheonix somehow.

It is very possible that the Lumineth will have a subfaction that will let them take a limited number of Pheonix Temple units (the standard is 1 in 4).

I swear I heard that Phoenix Guard know when they're gonna die which is one of the things that makes them so badass. Like if they're going to battle but know they're not gonna die today they just wreck face. Am I making that up? EDIT: P.S. Thanks Doug, love the channel

That is the Phoenix Guard of Ulthuan in The World that Was. There is no indication that the warriors of the Phoenix Temple know their time of death.

I believe so yes, they are granted a vision of there doom, which is relected in their table top rule witness to destiny. Its not them ignoring wounds, its them avoiding them because they know they aren't going to die in this tricky situation. Today anyway.

@@gwell2118 Nothing in the book says that they do. The only ones that receive visions of the future are the Anointed and that is only of the Aelven race's destiny as a whole. The "Witness to Destiney" rule only says that, "Incoming blows and bolts of sorcery somehow contrive to miss their mark." So it seems more like they have the blessing of the Ur-Phoenix who wards them against harm so that they might continue the fight against Chaos.

IIRC an ice phoenix is a particularly ancient phoenix that has lived so long that it has lost its fires of rebirth. These phoenixes are much more powerful than fire phoenixes, but also will not be reborn if they perish, because their fire has burned out.

Old lore for Dragons had sun and Moon represent the age of the dragon. Sun was young dragons so they can be awoken from their slumber quickly (compared to Moon) and stay up for long periods of time. The Moon Dragons would take a while to awaken and have a shorter period to be active. I assume the same went with the Phoenix’s granted this is WHFB lore.
