Radukar's ship is called "the Impaler" and "Radukar" is basically "Drakura" rewriten in disorder... which were two nicknames of real life Vlad Tepes, called "The Impaler" because of his tendancy of...well, you gessed it ...impaling his ennemies and was nicknamed "Dracula" a.k.a "the Dragon" in ancient romanian because of the said ferocity.

_Dracul_ in Romanian in this case means “The Dragon” in English. The phrase means “The Order of The Dragon” or “The Order of The Dracul.” A knightly order founded in 1408.

No. It’s a reference to the real Vlad the Impaler’s brother Radu the Beautiful who later betrayed his brother and took the throne of Wallachia. Later on the whole Vampire vs Werewolf thing came into pop culture and so it was natural thereafter to make a guy named Radu be a wolf type creature in opposition to the pure Vampire type like say Dracula or the Von Carstein. A good example of this happening was the book series Necroscope that also featured an animalistic werewolf type lineage of Vampires founded by a guy named Radu.

The cursed city audiobook is a thoughly enjoyable book that is a prequel to the cursed city board game. Its on audible and draws you into Ulfenkarn and everyones plans and mindsets

I reccomend looking up the Cursed City novel that was released alongside the game. It fleshes out further the actual city and some of the characters in the game, but it is also a decent murder mystery tale. Also we get a few more details on how Mournhold became Ulfenkarn. It's a fun read, still going through it

The villains of Cursed City are what drew me to the game. The models were amazing (and GW made a good call by showcasing Gorslav first) and their backstories were evocative and compelling. I'm seriously considering buying up some Gravelords to make a small Vyrkos army, simply because I love the theme.

Ppl...seriously call your local game stores if ur still looking for Cursed City. I found a shop with 2 of them near me, they are still out there just keep calling around and looking. Call some shops in the next closest city if u still cant find it. Good luck!

The AOS Gotrek stories aren't as good, to be honest. Not sure if it's because the setting doesn't work as well, or if it's just down to David Guymer's writing, but they're not great.

Yeah while not as good as the originals, I think I was never the same when William King stopped writing them, but still enjoyable the audiobooks are fantastic just for Brian blessed alone, I think what it's missing is Felix because although it was Gotrek's journey, it was Felix's story if that makes sense and without his point of view on things its lacking, but there are some very memorable and moving moments in them so far.

I find it surprising that Radukar got kicked out and had people betray him in this, as Vlad the Impaler (his real life counterpart, and the actual person his lore and design etc originates from) managed to produce a crime free country as everyone was too scared of doing something wrong and getting impaled. So I find it surprising that say Kritza decided to keep up a facade against Radukar.

That's a different pelt to the one he wears. It's mentioned in the book that Radukar keeps that fur as an exhibit in the castle next to other stuff from his past

Nice video. I managed to get the Cursed City novel on IBooks and have just started reading it. I think it would be great to use Warcry rules and create narrative scenarios in absence of a readily available rule book for the Warhammer Quest.

The game itself was not a flop. Great models, great lore and great fun to play. The way it was release it could have been a bit more transparent! I would be interested to know many copies actually got sold. Tens of thousands?

This isn’t sour grapes, I have a copy of the game but if the game was going to be limited, they needed to tell people that. Not get everyone excited about their next installment in the series, only to have it available for 5 minutes on pre-order day and then tell everyone it’s discontinued. People keep saying GW doesn’t owe anyone anything but that’s just wrong. They owe their customers a little, honesty. Maybe even a little, respect. Instead, it’s “thanks for the cash, now move along.”
