In Mexico, femicide can be charged when a female is killed AND at least one of several other factors are included. In this case, the extreme violence of the murder resulted in the femicide charge. Femicide results in a longer sentence than homicide. It doesn't matter if the murderer is male of female.

I am so glad the family had a second autopsy done. I was worried they might have to exhume her body to do one. The wheels of justice are turning slowly but at least they are moving. As a black man that was raised in the black community I can say this "Sometimes when girls are all grouped up they'll spontaneously gang up on the prettiest or weakest one and beat her down for no reason...then they'll all be friends again a few minutes later after they all tire themselves out...if they all survive the altercation."
