Happy to see our VP (Viking Prince) in wool. I'm 77, in Oregon, and I've lived in many cold places (England with no central heating, Montana, Maine, Oregon, etc.). I learned the value of wearing wool when I was young, and always made my 2 kids wear wool (if I could...). I try to convince other people that wool brings its own heat to you, and keeps you warm even when wet, but it's out of fashion (and some people are just too dim to understand). Recently, I had to wear my better-looking clothes to get to an appointment, but I wrapped a wool scarf that I had crocheted around my midriff like a cummerbund, fastened with a kilt pin, and covered with my hoodie. I felt quite like a Viking! Thank you so much for the parts of your life that you share with us, and the incredible beauty of your films. With love, Kate

This video made me realize more than other ones of yours. Perhaps because of longer stay at the spot. What I realized? How much we, living today, depend on others in our survival. From finding food to defending from nature attack. When you don't have anyone around, everything falls on your shoulder for your survival. Living a day isn't given free nor a matter of course. Living In nature alone, ultimate freedom, yet, fight to survive today, as well. Thank you very much for your beautiful video.

Good survival strategy building a simple shelter the first day to conserve energy. It probably takes 3 days just to acclimate to the cold. Am glad for you it didn't snow more, nor did it get much colder that first night. Keeping active was the best way to stave off the cold so long as you had some food. If you warm the water container before going to bed, it can be used to warm the bed. Stones can do this too.

SUGGESTION: ANYTIME you near water, with the potential of falling through(I saw you stomping on ice, getting log) the ice, getting wet, ALWAYS start a fire 1st, before you go near any water, it may save your life, if fall in...Trying to start a fire AFTER falling in, when you wet, freezing, going into hypothermia, maybe potentially, impossible...
