From a different KZbinr I gathered that it is a bit different from Humankind and I love it. You basically start as one Civilization and can progress that civ into the next age automatically. However if you achieve certain things you can change to a different one e.g. have a lot of horses you can become the mongols instead. I lime this a lot more than Humankinds: "Pick whatever" System

My only issue with this is that you could theoretically make decisions that lock you out of choosing the historical choice. There definitely needs to at least be a forced historical setting.

@@GoBlueHTB again only what another youtuber said: the historical choice is always an option you dont have to unlock. So basically going down the historic path is the easiest. Only switches need to be earned.

I love it that Firaxis actually tries to shake things up with every new entry. I was iffy about the civ swapping through ages at first cause of humankind, but so far the majority of my concerns for how it functioned in that game has been alleviated here. Will have to see the full execution when it comes out, but so far I'm hype!

Sounds a lot like the main ply style of humankind.

Been playing Civ since #1. I do welcome the new mechanics and ages sound cool. I think the team will implement it better than others.

I think switching civ could be like switching governments in civ 6, each civ having unique bonus and abilities, but I don't want America to have the option to become China, for example.

I'll wait to see how it actually plays before I judge it too harshly. I've never played this "humankind" game but it could maaaaybe be cool, that mechanic

I hope they'll explore bronze age more now that they merge pre renaissance age into one (from stone age to late medieval i assume)

I think this is a nice change. Say you are playing as the english or spanish, then evolving into America when settling the new world. Every civ can't have a natural path of evolution but that is also what makes it fun, the exploration of alternate paths each civilization could take. All in all, it's a good balance between fun and realism in my opinion. Too realistic would limit the player to use mods to be able to evolve a certain civ to something alternative to what would be natural.

I love it . . . or at least I love what they are trying to accomplish. How well the execute is another thing entirely. But splitting it into basically three separate games lets them balance the civs and gameplay around each Age. Its designed to eliminate the current problem where mid and late game are almost always boring because you've already won in the early game. I also like that each Age can be played as a stand alone game if you just want a shorter focused experience.

This feature is not a problem for me. I'm more concerned about changing civs, at least changing into a civ that is not historical lyrics related to the previous one. I'm more concerned about any leader being able to lead any civ. To me that breaks the immersion and role play that makes each play through different and unique.

I guess is an interesting mechanic, it would balance the game so players are not that far away from each other saddly no more Archer Rider vs Tanks but there is a sacrifice I am willing to have. I still feel it should had been four ages...

I dont like the civs not being tied to leaders, it seems like an excuse to sell them separately as different dlc.

It’s about time they added this in should have done it back in 5 or 6

Should have been given a new name. This is not Civ
@jammers1954 ай бұрын
So Civ 5 etc had 5 or 6 eras. And now we're getting half of that. I just think they're cutting back too much content
@nINJAP3RUNA4 ай бұрын
I don't think so. The ages apparently last for 100-200 turns each. There should be plenty on content withing the ages.
@malmasterson38904 ай бұрын
They aren't cutting content, they just don't want people to get too overwhelmed with civ swapping like they did in Humankind. Each of the ages is roughly equivalent to 3 eras from civ 6.
