Hello everyone! Haven't made a video on Rimworld in a while, so I decided to make one. A while ago, someone asked in the comments for a video on the game's cut and removed content, along with the various changes it underwent over the years. I've been able to find a list of it on the Rimworld's Wiki along with a Reddit thread regarding two pieces of cut content from the Anomaly DLC and compiled everything in this video. I hope you enjoy it :)

I used to play with Green Thumb back in the day. Totally overpowered, which is why some mods added it back as a positiv gene. It has nothing to do with farming&harvesting. Mood is down, send the guy out and set up a 4x5 rice field. Let him plant it, then delete the zone again. BAM +20 mood. You never check on the plants again, and if your planting was somewhat high it takes the same time as drinking 3 beers (which is also +20, but with downsides). Infinite free mood.

The idea of geysers becoming rotstink geysers when you don't kill flesh pits actually sounds totally sick! But I guess it also railroads players to interact with them in a specific way, so I get why it might've been cut.

honestly, Anomaly is already full of railroading as it stands, but i guess even Tynan thought that was a bit too much. i WOULD like the rotstink geysers to return, but only as a standalone map hazard that you would have to avoid or maybe something you could fill in.

*Old man voice* Back in my day! The repair worktype was merely a way of designating particular pawns for repairing damaged structures as opposed to it being just part of construction. Since repairing gave a small amount of construction EXP and wasn’t inherently reliant on skill level (nobody could “botch” repairing something) it meant it was a decent way of training builders without having them waste a ton of resources failing to build things. Guess it was just removed for balance purposes, or just because it was kind of pointless as usually there are far more effective ways of training builders, even back then.

I did it once or twice by using the 'more jobs' mod, and to be honest, the amount of xp you get is negligible, it takes years to get up from 0 to like 8 construction, you're way better off building and deconstructing lots of chairs. This job type isn't very useful, so I can see why it was removed, given Ludeon's minimalistic approach with Rimworld. The only way I find it useful is having my non builders automatically fix the electronics when the main builder is out of commission.

Refining the base resource into different parts is the amount of work the pawn has to do. That is why they are standing so long in front of buildings and workbenches. I really hate how VE Vehicles got that wrong, readding the idea of different parts that need to be made first.

tbf every part is complicated and needs to be put together. breaking it up and speeding up each step is more engaging

I feel like the Grunt Xenotype was probably gonna be a low INT worker type who was only capable of simple labor, like sowing plants, mining, or construction. I could seen this being a major issue if a pawn's backstory made them unable to do simple work, essentially netting you a totally useless pawn. Also, I noticed something interesting about Rimworld's lore: One of the known Transcendent worlds, basically the physical bodies of Archotechs who integrated a planet into themselves, is named "Xaroh" which is literally "Horax" spelled backwards. Possible connections?

or it could be the other type of grunt, like a much more combat based xenotype.

Hey TNA We need lore video about anomaly entities, since a lot of them hide multiple secrets It would be pretty interesting seeing your theories on origins of these entities yes they related to monolith, but how? Why gorehulks resemble humans so much? Where did blood rain came from? These are definitely some interesting questions

Quarrying, melee shields +hunting from ce, and glass roofs also should all be vanilla imo. you telling me that a scrappy team of people who can shuffle papers to figure out how to build a spaceship by scratch w no formal teaching cannot figure out how to dig a pit in the ground, make glass, or strap a strip leather to a round board of wood. Yeah it was most likely cut for lore reasons - there is no non-Earth related life in the universe which means no fossil fuels (not that you can't get things like methane from abiotic processes)
