AGGH is good. I have a position in SVOL, and TLTW. The chart for TLTW made an observable Change in mid october, I am hopeful it will continue to remain stable. I also have some LQDW and PDI. So I'm thinking I have the Bond space covered. I have AGGH on watch if I suddenly feel a consuming need to get more conservative. it's good to see you. hope you are having good holidays.

Merry Christmas Dave and a happy new year to you and your family. Will take a look at this one. Sold off every thing before year end except SCHD, O and XOM. Bought 1000 shares of TLTW after they paid out a .77 divided lowering the price for us to get in. We will see how that goes over the next few weeks. Waiting with a pile of cash when the big one hits.

Great video. What are your thoughts when you compare Simplify ETFs: AGGH vs HIGH? (IMHO, seems that AGGH is more of a core bond holding type of position)
@wealthadventures9 ай бұрын
AGGH is a core bond ETF with some bells and whistles. I like it better for 2024 with interest rates expected to fall at some point. HIGH is a good fund as a cash alternative for those willing to take a bit more risk with their cash for a higher return. It is just short term treasuries and some options for additional income.

This may be a novice question but is the fact that funds like these have less than a 5 year track record a concern? What I mean by the question is in terms of the risk of the fund collapsing somehow. If you hold a position then your investment is backed by the underlying securities. There is no way the price could go to zero if the underlying stocks, bonds etc. do not. Correct? Again I know it is a novice question but I am still a little behind the learning curve on ETF's.
@wealthadventures9 ай бұрын
The base of this ETF is bonds and bond funds. Quite safe. Same with an ETF that just owns stocks. They will not go to zero.

If the stock market tanked, would AGGH price increase or decrease? Trying to see if it would increase because bonds do better when the stock market is tanking.
@wealthadventures9 ай бұрын
It would be driven more by the fed and interest rates. Any bond fund that has duration exposure, will have interest rate sensitivity. If you look at TLT for example, as interest rates were increased, the long term bonds in that fund were less desirable. AGGH has shorter duration but it will still respond to interest rate changes. The fed is not supposed to make decisions based on the stock market but... if the stock market crashes, it would likely be due to recession. The FED would likely lower interest rates and you would likely see a modest increase in AGGH.

My feeling is that it would be fine. Price may tick up a bit. Yield on bonds may drop with time so overall yield may fall... but not a significant %.

Would you happen to know the reason why AGGH is tanking in the last week? Did they make a bad trade or are bond prices changing?

Bond rates have risen this week so that would impact the fund. For example TLT is down about 2% and this is down about 1.5% this past week.

@@wealthadventures Thanks for the reply, I was looking at what AGGH is holding and noticed they are holding mostly TIPS. Since inflation is shooting down right now and the Fed is actively trying to lower it, holding TIPS bonds to me is a really bad decision right now. I would never have purchased this if I knew this. Honestly, what are these guys thinking buying TIPS when the FED is actively trying to lower inflation. Lucky I only purchased very small amount of test shares, but I'm not buying anymore because inflation is tanking and truflation has us at 2.00% now. HIGH is holding 3 month T-bonds, that is similar to I believe SGOV. I will buy HIGH instead.
