I think this is my 1st youtube comment ever. (or at least as long as I can remember) I don't give compliments just to make people feel all warm and fuzzy inside, this one is well deserved. Very impressive series so far. I really appreciate how you review all past trades and add a "little more" clarification each time (probably based off the prev video questions). This helps to reinforce your previous info, while still progressing to the new stuff, which keeps me from wasting time review old videos repeatedly, thus wasting time and seeking alternative info. Your method retains engagement. Nevertheless, I plan to start the series over when I think I got these basics down. Your now one of the few subscriptions. Nice work.

Hey Dave, just letting you know I’m still trading, hanging in there, less of the risky long option trades, and more of building a long term portfolio, I call it “The Dave” portfolio ❤ hope you’re doing well, thks for channel 👍

I’ve had it for two years. The first year was pretty good. Almost even NAV with a 16% yield. This past year I’ve noticed that in a down market it really goes down fast compared to other index covered call ETF’s. I’m not liking how it underperforms and will be trimming my exposure soon

@wealthadventures11 сағат бұрын
I have in the past but nothing active at the moment. The volatility is great in TSLA and since the election it has exploded. I just think it always looks soooo expensive and hard to be active with options.

One topic that most KZbinrs avoid is which funds are "tax efficient" and why, and how to tell? Could you cover this?

Do you hold these funds you spoke of in a retirement account or regular brokerage account?
@wealthadventures3 күн бұрын
I have some in my retirement account and others in a taxable account.
@whodidit995 күн бұрын
A great video would be what determines a "tax efficient" etf vs a "tax inefficient" etf, and how to tell if the etf one is analyzing fits into which category. Maybe a comparison of the most tax efficient and the least etf. So many talk about this but don't really give a clear explanation.
@wealthadventures3 күн бұрын
I plan to tackle that in 2025 once I get to my taxes.

Great commentary of the better CC ETFs! Which of these would perform best in a bear market??
@wealthadventures3 күн бұрын
Hard to say. Selling calls closer to the money provides a larger hedge but that can also lock in losses at times.

CSHI uses index options so that portion will get 60/40 tax treatment.

I own mostly JEPQ because I found it to be the most reliable, and well built. Will most likely switch to QQQI in my brokerage account for tax purposes. Just want to give QQQI more time to marinate and show me what it can do. I am a fan of the NEOS funds, and I think you can build a really smart portfolio from them with a sweet yield.

Dave, really great video. I just don’t understand why you get so hung up on the experience ratios for income producing products . When you are looking at dividend returns, those returns are what you get after the expenses. A dividend ETF that pays out a 12 % return and has a 1 % expense ratio means it is making at least 13 % to keep 1% and pay you 12. it is still better than a fund paying out 10% with a .5 % expense ratio. In reality, expenses ratios don’t really matter, just total return, or dividend payout depending on what you’re looking for.
@wealthadventures3 күн бұрын
Expenses can eat up a portfolio. I prefer to keep them low no matter the product. If we are comparing 2 that are similar, I'm going with the lower expense ratio. Also, it is often overlooked but total return does not include the expense ratio. Those expenses still needs deducted. So if a product is charging 1% and has a total return of 12%, you will get an 11% return which is called the net return. My philosophy is to keep fighting for lower fees and keep more for yourself. Cheers to 2025!
@ScottOrchard-rt1wh2 күн бұрын
@ But that is not the case for dividends, which is what I was specifically addressing. The 12% dividend you get is after expenses. So if you are retired, and living off of dividends, the 12 % dividend with a 1 % fee is better than an 8 % dividend with a .2 % fee, as long as the long term fund price is stable or hopefully positive…. Not a dividend trap fund. For dividend return, the management fee just doesn’t matter.

If the end goal is income, isn’t it better if the stock price doesn’t increase too much? I prefer to keep shares forever, so buying an ETF like FEPI, where the price is fairly stable, and the distribution is stable, allows my shares to compound faster if I’m reinvesting. Hopefully I’m looking at this correctly?
@wealthadventures6 күн бұрын
If you sell calls, the goal is to have the underlying expire at the strike you sell so that you keep the premium and get the gain in the asset.

Hi Dave, after Ymax went weekly I bought over 500 shares and with those dividends I am buying apple . So a one time buy of $9000 in Sept provides over $100 weekly straight into apple. So very little Nav erosion but I have bought over $2000 of Apple in 3 Months.
