At 13:00 you mention you are part of the 50 plus crowd. What's that? Also, got 41k going to roll over into an IRA and wondering if you would recommend at my age of 35 to put it as you distributed it on the excel or to maybe favor more of the first 2 and leave DIVO, JEPI for the future. Thank you. New subscriber.

I hope that's not the case you should cost average into index funds for the long term at best if you're struggling with personal investing or sometimes it's even better to just hire a mutual fund manager. There's no shame over 90% of people people will underperform the index over the longer term the sp500 over a 20 year period has never lost a gain. Patience and steadiness is better than most KZbinrs stock recommendation.

Great advice here. Keep it simple, buy things you understand, take some risk but don’t try to shoot the lights out. Diversification is KEY! I use a CFA and it's a great hands off way to approach it, I conservatively follow *Lina Diniekiene's* recommendations and market entry and exit points, and tbh this makes it possible for me. Started in 2022 but with a lot of financial strength and in-depth research I did hit that coveted 100K and recently the 1m mark :)

I am 72 years old and have actively invested for the past thirty years. I have found that what enables me to sleep at night is knowing that my capital is protected while I generate enough monthly income to subsidize my RMDs. In one of my retirement accounts I have done very well with the Windsor Admiral fund with Vanguard while using JEPI and most recently JEPQ for my monthly income. In my other retirement account I have SCHD, VIG, and using JEPI and JEPQ for my monthly RMDs. I will take under advisement what you are suggesting here as possibly an alternative to the Windsor fund.

SLV. That's my ETF to day trade in retirement. Not difficult to make 1% to 2% a week trading it. Silver is super volatile. It easily moves by at least 30 cents every day. So, if you're an experienced trader with knowledge of Elliot Waves, MACD, support/resistance, Moving Averages, DXY relationship to silver and technical analysis in general. You can make a great living with SLV. I'm at 67.5 years old and I have been trading since the late 70s.

@@wealthadventures Yes. Silver looks like it just finished wave 4 for the uptrend Elliot Waves started back at the lows of Sept. 1st of last year. This wave 4 seemed to be a triangle started on the peak of wave 3 on Jan. 3rd of this year. The triangle ending with a test of the 50 day EMA yesterday. I'm long from a few days ago. I'll probably be out by tomorrow. If a wave 5 is in the making, then the $25.50 level for silver is doable. But, I don't stay in it long. Once I select a good entry and the trade starts to go my way, I start to look for any reason for a decrease in the probability that the profits will continue to build. For me, it's usually 20 cents to 50 cents and I'm out. With silver, you get a lot of blow off indicative of 5th waves. Volume for trading SLV is good. You can also trade it during Extended Hours, which is nice for getting in after appropriate news at the 8:30 AM ET hour. I trade it with my ROTH and regular IRA so I do cash trades, which limit the trading somewhat with a "T+2" settlement for trades. Good luck. Let me know how it goes.

@@wealthadventures The wave before the open yesterday looks like it was the blow off 5th wave. The move up out of that month-long triangle. The wave count is now clearer. The move to retest the 200 day EMA at close to $22 in silver at this point is a nice zigzag for the Elliot Wave 4 for the up trend that started on Sept. 1st from last year. The next move up should be wave 5 of that up trend. My target price is about $26 for that move. If you plot a 5 year chart, on a weekly, you can clearly see the 4 waves from around Sept. 1st. Next week should provide lots of opportunity for profitable, very short trades on at least a 50 cent rebound off the 200 day. Luckily, DXY is in a bear market. The current rally for DXY for the past 2 days may be 2/3 done. Resistance at its 50 day EMA. But, do keep an eye on the dollar. At this point, silver is very dependent on what the dollar does. So, if it breaks above its 50 day EMA, that could put pressure on silver for a while.

@wealthadventures
@wealthadventures Жыл бұрын
Hi Rob. Great question and that is the primary reason I limit my investment. I'm digging myself to gain a better understanding. The idea of an ELN is simple enough (Invest $1000 - Buy a bond for $800 that returns your initial $1000, use the remaining $200 to buy a riskier asset such as a call option). However, for the yield they are providing the coupon rates on the ELNs need to be extremely high. Especially considering they make up a small portion of the total portfolio. Until I can work through the math (and explain it to others), I'll keep my exposure limited. No free lunch as they say!

I'm 57 and have money with a FA but don't like the 1% fee. Want to do it myself and this was a great help. My question is there are so many videos saying so many things, it's hard to nail it down. So here goes. I want to do a simple 3 fund portfolio, but I also like these you just showed and dividends. What about this - SCHD, VYM, DIVO, JEPI, SVOL, XLK, XLV, VGT. Yes that's 8. Would love your thoughts? Thank you for your great videos

Hi. I like many of those funds and understand not wanting to give up 1%. That mix gives you just about everything in the US. Are you trying to gear your portfolio toward growth or do you want to start taking some income now? @@wealthadventures Thank you. I'm just trying to figure out how to do it myself and keep it simple. 8 is probably too much, right? I'm mainly focused on having my money make money. Call it growth or income. I'd say both, but I want to be conservative. I like your content, and you make it simple. It's hard to figure out how to do this with all the information coming your way. Any additional thoughts? I like the dividends and the ones you shared for people over 50 and that's the extend of my knowledge. What would you do if you were me? I have a mix of SEP, IRAs, Stocks and CDs now that total 1.4m and I need to make it work. Thank you

@@markml100 The only ETF you have listed that I would make sure to keep in check is SVOL. Small amount may be fine. That is just my opinion. I think some CDs, bonds, and/or cash in a money market is a good idea as a portion of your plan and can give you some time to invest. They are all paying at the moment. Start buying small amounts of the ETFs that you like and get your feet wet. You can always shoot me an email and let me know what you really need from a portfolio if you want to dig deeper.

@wealthadventures
@wealthadventures Жыл бұрын
Hi Zack. In my opinion, VTI and VOO are virtually interchangeable. I prefer VOO slightly. SCHD and VYM should offer less volatility in both directions so introducing them will help those concerned about significant drawdowns. DIVO will also do this based on performance to date while also offering some income. JEPI is for those that want to strip off some income but it will sacrifice growth in most situations. Just my opinion!

I’ve always sold to the same value i paid, 10k in, 10k out and the profit equates to free shares. Not trying to time it, more that the price now equates to 3 years divided. If the price keeps rising, $ cost averaging cuts into future dividend growth. If the price comes back down, $ average makes more sense, but I’ve missed a chance to take cash and run. Think it’s more we compartmentalise portfolios and are restricted by the rules we put in place. Anyhoo, I took the profit so dinner is on me.
