Willie Deville touches a place in me that no one else does. Greatly missed.

A talent that remains relatively unappreciated in his home country. You were a great one, Willy.

Makes me so happy to see where Willy lived his life. Amid nature and animals, no surprise that is where he found peace. Love you Willy today and forever.

only for a few years he lives here until the IRS repossed it for unpaid taxes. His wife killed herself soon after.

I have a lot of respect and admiration for this artist, so talented and so true to himself, I have seen "Mink" de Ville performing when his first album came out in the middle of the punk craze, I am amazed about the production of his records, just brillant and of course the voice, so unique! Yes Willie I love you!..

All 3 parts of this segment of Beautiful Losers featuring this exceptional musician are terrific-true gems. Sadly, it seems Willy experienced some awful tragedies after this happy phase in his life but based on subsequent articles, interviews and videos of his performances, it seems he found more happiness. Thanks to KZbin for helping to make his musical gifts and his special spirit alive.

I dragged my wife into the French Quarter one night when I heard he was there. It was a magical time. Just him with his piano and his guitar. After that my wife realized why I was so enamored.

Beautiful. Thank you for this extensive and introspective interview of my favorite artist. This was filmed in Picayune, Mississippi, which is the next state over from Louisiana. His home is nice and secluded, and is considered in the heart of the Deep American South.

The Ballad of Jesse James..sung very well by Willie..A Mink DeVille show was a guarantee! They always put on a really great show..Willie was some performer. The Ladies loved him! He was perfect for a nightclub. I was so used to seeing them at CB's, I had the albums, they were really something. Mink DeVille..great songwriting too..

I totally understand that love could cure him and I am so glad he did find that in his life. When he talks about love, that its not something everybody has in his life and that some throw it away so carelessly only realizing later what they had shows his wisdom.

The woman he bought the horse farm with was his second wife Lisa, she also was his manager. Lisa committed suicide in 2000 or 2001. Willy found her hanging. After that, he went mad and had a car accident. He met another woman, his third wife and ended up in New York again. He had hepatitis due to his long term heroin addiction and pancreatic cancer. He passed away too young. I loved the band Mink DeVille, saw them several times live and later on I went to his solo concerts. Lisa has not conned Willy, they have been together since the early '80s until she died. I never read or heard why she chose to die. Willy was a lot things. A great artist, an inspiration and also kind of tragic.
