My wife and I saw Mink DeVille back in the 1970,s at The Paradise in Boston we also got Willy,s autograph after the show which I still have. I always thought they were much more appreciated in Europe than here in the US. I don’t know why they are not in the 🎸 Rock and Roll hall of fame. 😢

I was only 10yo and listening to the AM Radio in my mothers car, I first heard Mink DeVille. They were unlike anything else. Wonderful rhythms to dance to with a pretty girl.

Unfortunately, I discoved willy after he had already passed away , so basically i fell in love with a dead man lol. Kinda like the 1940's movie Laura. But seriously, i love & appreciate his talent, his unique- creativity, his honest- heartedness , his humanity, his intelligence. I wish I could have known him; even platonicly wouldve been great. RIP Willy DeVille

in order to get to Heaven you need to be a saint. Pop musicians aren't saints by no means. Lookup examples of souls who didn't make it to Heaven because of a small sin they committed - Lucy's friend from Fatima for example. And compare against musicians that have millions of sins on their hands. Wishful thinking is nice, but reality is what counts

Blues, yes. But don’t forget about the Latin influence in his music. Partly that came to him through Brill Building songwriters who incorporated Latin rhythms into their songs. And Willy was a real sponge for all the music he heard on the radio and streets growing up
