చిన్నప్పుడు చదువుకునే రోజుల్లో మా మాస్టారు నన్ను కొట్టినప్పుడల్లా ప్రతీదెబ్బ తిన్న వెంటనే నేను చేతులను దులుపుకుని నా లాగుకి రాసుకున్న తర్వాతే రెండో దెబ్బకు చెయ్యి చాచేవాణ్ణి. శుచి-శుభ్రత అన్నది నాకు అప్పటినుంచే ఉండేది! అప్పట్లో మా గురువులంతా పాఠం చెప్పినంతసేపూ నిలబడే ఉండేవాళ్ళు, ఎందుకో తెలుసా? గౌరవం...నేనంటే వాళ్ళకి అంత గౌరవం...అంతే! నేను చదువుకునే రోజుల్లో మా గురువులు నాలుగురోజులకొకసారి మా నాన్నగారిని తీసుకుని రమ్మనే వారు! ఎందుకంటే వాళ్ళందరూ ఏ విషయమైనా నాకు సూటిగా చెప్పడానికి చాలా భయపడేవారు! నేను రాసినవి చదవడానికి మా గురువులంతా చాలా ఇష్టపడేవారు. అందుకే వాళ్ళు ఇచ్చిన ప్రశ్నలకు కొన్ని వందలసార్లు మళ్ళీ మళ్ళీ రాసి చూపించమని ప్రతీరోజూ అభ్యర్థించేవారు! మా గురువులందరూ నన్ను "వీడొక సింహబలుడు" అన్నట్టుగా చూసేవారు. అందుకే వాళ్ళకి ఏమాత్రం భయం వేసినా క్లాసులో నుంచి నన్ను బయటకు పంపి గుమ్మం దగ్గర కాపలా కోసం నిల్చోబెట్టేవారు. మా గురువులకి నేను చాలా తెలివైనవాడిని అనే భావన బాగా బలంగా ఉండేది. అందుకే వాళ్ళంతా, "ఒరేయ్, నువ్వు స్కూలుకి ఎందుకొస్తావురా. పోయి ఎక్కడైనా పనిలో చేరిపోవచ్చు కదా!", అని కనీసం రోజుకోసారైనా అనేవారు! అందుకే, నా చిన్నతనం నిజంగా ఒక స్వర్ణయుగం! 😀😀😀
