We as males are bound to be naturally agressive. With that being said,, we can still be responsible. Our agression is an emotion. And, just like all 'emotions', our agression can be kept under control. Emotions do not rule us. We rule emotions. Emotions are tools for us to use. So, next time you feel like you're bout to loose your temper, think about that; or you'll be the next person in prison

Dear Cody, I agree that conflict has eliminated less able human beings in the past, so it has contributed to the improvement of the genome. But we as a species are at the brink of self destruction be it by climate change or nuclear war. The only chance for our species is it little bit of humility and respect for mother earth. I think you will agree with me if you start thinking about it. Thanks for your contribution anyway.

Well, I would say there is. Especially when racists seek to further divide us, they start with the men, but the need to control, kill and hate the 'other' filter down. All hidden behind politically correct passive aggression: discrimination. As for specific qualities of either sex in terms of displayed aggression, I believe there is that too. For example, men are traditionally seen as more violent when committing crime, whereas women, traditionally seen as nurterers (especially if white), are classed as non violent and dangerous, and society falls back on these sterotypes every day in every town (here in UK anyway), when dealing with, judging, and indeed sentencing criminally accused in court.

I think aggression is the main obstacle to real progress. In my opinion the practice of fracking is an aggressive act against mother nature. Would it be possible to reduce the level of aggressiveness in all human beings by genetic engineering ?

No because a star wars reference can solve this the Jedi are wrong the Sith are right....conflict improves civilization and the individual. Conflict forces one to better one's self Evolution favors adaptability. The root cause of us as a human species is we have subjective morality. It's a tough thing to fathom but at the base root....no not all humans are created equal some are stronger some are tougher some are smarter some are more deceptive and some are a poor equilibrium of all these and some are a great balance of all these traits. Aggression without control and purpose is a major obstacle to connect with you midway here. But controlled conscious aggression is actually a pretty good thing.
