There is an error in this video. Once the train achieves the speed of 130 kms/hr, the loco pilot will pull the clip to neutral or zero notch and subsequently the accelaration sound gets silent as if he continues to accelerate after 130 kms/hr then the speed goes beyond 130 kms/hr and immediately the AWS warning bell will begin to ring which is close to the analogue speedometer located in the cab. He needs to tap the AWS warning bell with his left hand failing to do this will result in activating the break switch present on the railway track and breaks get automatically applied and the train will halt. Once the process is complete, the station master of the ver next halt will summon the loco pilot and question him and if he has no valid reason then he will be suspended from service for 3 months without pay as punishment. Now in this video, the speedometer the reading 130 kms/hr is very erratic. Because after touching 130, he still continues to apply voltage but the speedometer is not moving ahead of 130 kms/hr. Do the necessary rectification of the video.

Probably that's the compressor sound?? Some p7 whines a lot ... I heard this sound many times even after train reaches mps in that section...

@@sumantakolay1436 compressor sound is diff. WAP 7 all locos have loud friction sound while begging to accelerate. Once the handle is pulled to neutral, the whining sound stops. Compressor sound lasts less than 3 mins. WAP 5 is equally loud. WAP 4 is old but silent while accelarating. Same is the case with WCAM 2 and WCAM 4 which was used in Western and Central railway section of Mumbai. Now replaced with WAP 7.

It seems sound is due to air speed. Had it been engine acceleration sound it must have been there even when train was at 50 kmph. The sound becomes prominent when the train hits around 100-105 kmph. It is turbulent air sound directly hitting microphone.

@@arshjordan5455 you are getting confused between acceleration sound and direct air speed. Now while the loco is getting accelerated 0 to 50 or 50 to 130, the whining sound can be clearly heard. Direct wind speed sound hitting the microphone can't be heard in this video.

After attaining 130 kmph train ran for 420 sec or 7 min. So distance traveled at uniform speed of 130 kmph- 10.83 km. Vande Bharat is fully [pentograph] driven train plus its body is light so acceleration is much easier. But full credit to WAP7 for hauling & hurtling down a huge 16 bogie heavy carriage train with such acceleration & speed !

Newer WAP-7s have their TCMS tweaked which ensures faster acceleration. I've experienced 0-110 in less than 120 sec with a 22 coach LHB load.

Agar main track pe signal clearance milta hai green tab acceleration alag level ka hota hai aur I think aap theek keh rahe ho almost 2.5 minute ma WAP 7 Pakad leti hai itni speed

The only way I can see higher speeds is on elevated tracks. Jo existing lines hai, unke upar hi pillars pe tracks honge tho, slow traffic below and faster traffic above. Stations can access those elevated tracks using escalators/elevators. Track fencing is not feasible, because it cuts access to one side from the other.

Not just elevated tracks but the track requires low curvature. Curvature greatly decrease average speeds. Indian railway network ka jo foundation hya,that was laid out by the british and was done on land basis. So if you just make elevated tracks along existing track,then it will also have curvature and hence low speed

The speedometer is not accurate here. Anyone with basic understanding of Electric motors know the increment of electric motor Rpm is not Linear. However if you notice the speedometer,it is just increasing linearly from 0 to 130. The other hint is by observing motor sound,the strong "humming" sound is when it is pulling strongly,however the speedometer shown is the same regardless😂. I agree with the final speed,it does look like 130 by the end but you haven't measured the acceleration by any App i.e Ulysse app.

This locomotive can have linear acceleration because it's being controlled that way. WAP 7 has microprocessor based speed and slip control mechanism which can automatically accelerate and maintain a certain speed. Also it has plenty of power to go even faster

Agreed...!! At start the actual speed was around 45-50 km/hr but speedometer here was showing 20km/hr.

Just a little bit faster than the North East Corridor between Washington DC to New York and Boston, MA. Top speed there is 125 MPH , due to the elimination of all grade crossings. Sections of the Surf line from Los Angeles to San Diego are good for only 90MPH, and, I believe, they still have the old Santa Fe's ATS- Automatic Train Stop.
