I am not clear on your concept of "reaffirm the command", which seems to be the practice of repeating a command the dog has already performed. Now, I can appreciate this from the perspective of a human who understands the literal meaning of the word "reaffirm", but from a dog's perspective it seems like it would be confusing. I can imagine the dog thinking, so to speak, "Why is my person telling me to do something I've already done?" What you as the trainer or handler are really looking for is for the dog to remain in the same position that he or she is already in, right? So why not use the command "stay," since that command tells the dog to do exactly that, i.e., remain in the position you are already in? This seems much more logical to me and I would think to the dog as well. Can you clarify why you would not do that as opposed to repeating the command the dog has already done? Thanks.

Might not see this but I’ll ask anyways, you think the most important thing(regardless of breed) when training, is being confident/assertive? This lady seems kinda timid and unsure, that play a factor in a dogs behavior?

it is definitely a part of it. Lead and they will follow.
