Mate, getting back to blading and only have a miniramp to practice on. Just been doing normal soul/mizou/pstar/acid and been scared to top because I thought I'd be falling face first (and I gave my thigh a deep muscle bruise missing an acid stall, the risk is real) keen to get back out their and try top souls when the rain and my injury heals. 🎉🎉

Thanks for another great tutorial! Regarding top sides being safer, it feels like I will fall head down into quarterpipe when I miss that soul :D

Awesome. I still suck at coping, and hardly just started topside grinds on PRails. This is super motivating! One of my skate buddies keeps bringing up how I should learn topsides on coping because it's much safer, I should listen to him.

Appreciate this lesson dude. Just learned how to Kind grind on a quarter last weekend and want to expand my topsides. This is perfect, thanks a lot man!

wow great insight -- I bruised (or fractured, never got Xray) my ribs twice already since returning a year ago. One was a missed soul grind on a 1/4 where I BARELY checked my ribs on way down. Sleep sucked for a month and 1/2. This insight should help give me some more confidence to commit to the topsides, which look better anyway!

Excellent, Josh! You explained very well the steps needed. Just received a pair of AEON 80s (can't wait to do a clip on them as well). In the meantime, I'm off the practice stalls on the kitchen stand 😂. Be safe!

Bro i swear when i start thinking, "next time at the park I'm working on that" you make a video for it. Would love to see "how to carve a bowl" soon, I'm still not quite understanding how to pump. Anyway, thanks again for the great video!
@Pottsachu4 жыл бұрын
Best advice I've ever gotten was on an old blader tip video. Think about the walls of the bowl like a quarter pipe turned on its side. Pump the corners just like you would pump into and out of the bottom of a transition. That clicked for me instantly and I could skate bowls better after that. 🤙

@@Pottsachu Ha yeah Ive seen the same video, was aggressive mall i believe. I still cant get it quite right though. I also had a skater tell me don't think about it like that haha So someone really breaking it down would help me out.

Starting on a single 90° turn is best, turning either left or right, whichever you find more comfortable. Before the turn, try to climb the approaching quarter (just like the carve in this video) and get high up on the wall near the coping, go low through the turn, and high on the out wall. Pump through the low point of the turn as if you’re dropping in. Once you get the timing down (you’ll feel the speed boost!) you start to learn lots of variations to this path. Lastly - Widen your stance if you have to traverse a wall without a natural momentum, so your inside leg holds you up, which also helps avoid touching your boot down and slipping out unintentionally. Hope this helps!

Would recommend watching the A Mall pump bowl tutorial again and focus on the high-low-high path on every turn and the sound the skates make. That’s how you know🤘

@@tomgraham2110 Will give that a try next time at the bowl. Thanks for the tip.
