Thank you! You inspired me - a 37 year old dad - to pick up aggressive skating again after a 13 year pause. I just came back from a small session and was still able to standin on some boxes and do an itty bitty frontside grind. I'm so stoked! Thanks again, and keep on rollin'!

I'll need to watch this a few times. :) . The one thing I love about your vids is how you slow things down so people can see what's going on. I may have to steal that for mine; (and so I can see what _I_ am actually doing -- great idea) . One question; what was up with your elbow pads and the long straps hanging down? Also; ok two questions; what wrist guards do you use? They look sorta like the B2B guys.
@ThirtyandRollin5 жыл бұрын
Thanks and I hope it can shine a bit of light on the subject. As for the strap I wear around my arm, it's for my shoulder. Many, many dislocations and shoulder surgery so now I just wear a strap so it can't come out. The wrist guard are some old Rollerblade brand ones I found at the thrift store for like $2. I go through so many wrist guards I try to find cheap ones from the thrift store.
@danisuarez56614 жыл бұрын
@@ThirtyandRollin About that strap, how does it help? It prevents you from extending your arm when you fall? I recently dislocated and fractured my elbow, im trying to get back at skating and that looks like a good solution for me! Thanks and good luck!
@ThirtyandRollin4 жыл бұрын
@@danisuarez5661 Yep it keeps my arm to my side so when I fall my arm won't be in the position for it to get dislocated.

Are you jumping up into the grind or lifting your feet to leave the ramp (like you explained in the airs video)?
@ThirtyandRollin4 жыл бұрын
Good question. It's more lifting my feet to meet the coping. You should be taking enough speed into the ramp to get to the top without jumping.

I liked your instructions very much, but for example if yo´re doing a frontside grind, and you´re carving up the ramp and before you hit the coping you have to do a little jump before?
@ThirtyandRollin4 жыл бұрын
Ya a little bit but I would still say most of the "jump" comes from the momentum and lifting up your feet.

Hey man again sweet video. My experience was slightly different as the ramp I had to learn of was only 2 meters wide so the carve was very steep. So it was a lot about shifting my weight/momentum to the grind direction just before getting locked on. Is this what you would recommend for shorter ramps?
@ThirtyandRollin5 жыл бұрын
Yes in that case it's more important to shift your weight as you get on the rail to stay on top of it and not over the deck.
@Lifeinc5 жыл бұрын
@@ThirtyandRollin it's seems to be working out for me anyway. Cheers for the video again.

I was shocked how hard coping is compared to rails etc. Wasn't prepared for that as it looks easy to float up to it.
