I own a 2022 black edition bought directly from Japan and I disagree with the power and acceleration assessment. It is plenty quick and has awesome acceleration. In mine the thing by the knee is actually a soft knee pad. I love this car and so far have no regrets. It drives like a dream and is also a very practical and comfortable car.
