Agios Kyrikos, Largest Town on Ikaria

I miss the old beloved Island. My parents are from there and most of my family is still there. Haven't been since covid, so it was nice to see the old familiar places in Agios again. Even saw some friends! I miss everyone. I used to live just up the road from the church. Thank you for this. By the way - that metal sculpture of Christ being taken down from the cross was made by the same artist who made the wings of Ikaria in the port. Last name, Ikaris. His son lives in Brooklyn. Good family, (cousins, too - but of course).

Glad it brought memories. My grand parents immigrated from Greece years ago and that's one of the reasons I go to Greece every year. Ikaria is a favorite island of mine and is not hyped like a lot of other islands so it still retains its "Greekness" Once again I apologize for the shaky video at times. I've gotten better since then!

My favorite place in the whole world Greece. Spend 4 years there. Loved every minute of it. Went to see so many islands.

Ikaria is a unique Greeek Island and I really liked it's character and characters. It was once the "dumping ground" for Greek dissidents so many of the locals are far more progressive and open minded. Plus I fit in with them perfectly!
