The kensington lock is for products with a Kensington Lock Port. It's this oval shaped hole usually in the chasis of different products such as laptops and in this case, the controller. When you buy the lock, it comes with a metal nub that screws in securely with a Hex screw. You can then use the key to open the lock, and secure it on the nub. The lock is connected to a plastic coated steel cable that you should secure on to a solid anchor such as a desk or closed loop of sorts.

Correct. Only when using the computer software (Serato DJ) you have full kill EQs, if you use the standalone mixer capabilities meaning no computer you only have -26db as shown in the controller layout.

Any chance that your slip mode is turned on? Set a temp cue point on the first down beat which will be indicated by a set of white arrows. If you press play, and then CUE, the song will jump back to the temp cue point that you set. If slip mode is turned on, it will jump, but then when you let go, it will go BACK to where the track would have been.

I've had this mixer since the very first day it came out. I couldn't recommend it any more. This controller is beautiful in every way. It's a great purchase for people who are looking to expand their set-up too. I'm going to add CDJs on this because it has a stand alone mixer. God dammit it's so nice. I can even throw an RCA jack on the back when people have requests. Endless possibilities with this thing.

Wow this is probably the best tutorial I've found yet on how to use the Pioneer DDJ-SX2 with Serato! I just bought mine and struggled to find a good walk thru and face it, the documentation sucks.

Yes it works with Vista, the specs explains it. You will need to install the driver software and then install the Serato DJ software compared to a MAC that you would only need to install the Serato DJ Software.

The DDJ-sx is great! I have tested it vs a Rane SL4. Background info. I have A/B tested the SL4 (on the 48k setting) with a TTM57 and SL1. Both the TTM57 and the SL1 could not be called "good" when compared to the SL4. But when I tested it with the DDJ-sx it was amazing! just as good as the SL4 hands down. This was all done in a night club and a all Martin Audio sound system. The DDJ-SX is more than club worthy.

Hey Ty, thx for the review. Why wouldn't pioneer put a true split cue monitoring on this unit. It's almost a deal breaker and would've been so easy to include like the NS6.

I m a Traktor user and I d love to see a Traktor version of this controller. Serato is a great software but needs a facelift. That damn dial reminds me exactly of the altitude dial in Microsoft's 80's flight simulator just before the crash.

Hello friends my name is Sergio now working as a DJ at 29 years, I wonder if the Pioneer DDJ-SX only works with Serato, because currently I use the American Audio VMS4 MIDI controllers with Traktor 5 I particularly liked that the controlled Pioneer DDJ-SX ja pesquizei until the market price here in Brazil that is in R $ 3,399.97 and have to make sure if she accepts other software besides the Serato could make me doubt this?? It's a macbook pro... just has the matte screen over instead of the glossy one. The glossy screens have a black ring around them and the matte have a silver one.

Im really a serato guy. but i bought traktor s4 due to, it was the best midi controller at the time. when i bought my s4. a week after. the start advertising this DDJ-SX. talk about bad timing now im still stuck with my s4.

I have a couple kind if important questions about the Poineer ddj-sx software. I have seen videos of people useing this software and they only have a 2.0 ghz processor and it freezes up during four table playback. I have been told a few years ago that it will not work correctly unless a persons PC has at least a 2.4ghz processor is this true? My other question is, will the software lock up when playing wave files well using a 2.2 gigahertz processor?

@bhangraplanet. Split cuing functionality splits your cue source on the left ear headphone and maintains your master playing source on the right side of your headset. It eliminates the need to have monitors blasting at you so you can mix on beat. As mentioned the NS6 hardware has this functionality and my Denon MC6000 and all other Denon products I own. It's really disappointing because this is how of us monitor that our mixing is perfect. Because of this issue my unit is being returned.

One response... could see it being useful to run Scratch Live via an SL-1, 2, 3, or 4 simply so 2 djs could tag team on seperate computers via usage of 2 channels for each dj on this one great controller!

The EQ kills are only infinite in Software, when used as a standalone mixer, the kills are -26db
