Got the DDJ-SX about a month ago and I can't recommend it enough. It's pretty much the best controller available ATM, and I've tried most of them (S4 not even close, NS7 not impressed, the rest are mostly toys). The amount of thought pioneer put into this controller is mind boggling... Love it.

With the S2 I was DJing in clubs within 3-4 months. Not even joking, it's really that intuitive and well-built. It has yet to break down on me (knock on wood) despite sustaining indirect beer spills on multiple occasions. Can't speak for the S4 cos I'd rather save for a DJM and CDJs but I'm told it's the S2 with more decks, which I'd imagine is ungodly awesome

I can't cue the opposite channel in my headphones for some reason when I'm listening to Side A i can't hear side B and when I'm listening to side B I can't hear side A so i have to fade in the mix which sucks what do I do?

First off great review! Secondly, would you recommend this to a new (semi musically/technically competent) user? (back story) I'm looking at getting a Serato rig for around $1-1.5k. The DDJ-SX2 is the new updated version of this that has the standalone mixer option with the DVS timecode and CD option as well so you can connect CDJ's and Vinyl turntables to play back Digital tracks within Serato. The Terminal Mix 8 is tight too and I also reviewed that on the channel. Check it out as well. I would say the DDJ-SX2 has some cool new features, so I would get that over the TM8, but they both get the job done.

If the speakers are powered, then you don't need an amp, but if they are non powered, then you need an amp. It doesn't matter what size you get as long as they play good for you. You only need bigger speakers for if you are playing a party.

I got a comparison question about the Numark 4trak and the Pioneer DDJ-SX. I want to get into scratching but I want to do it on a controller instead of vinyl. Even though the DDJ-SX has some more features than the 4Trak which unite felt better to scratch on? Also the cut in time looks like it's the same when the fader is set to its sharpest setting, but was the virtual needle on the SX's platter more helpful or comparable to the revolving light on the 4Trak?

Do you have any clue why you can only use 6 pads on the sample section instead of all 8?

up to 1:00 you hit the pads to turn on some FXs and used them kinda like a Bleep function, but the song picked up where it would have if nothing had been done. I am running traktor 2.6 and DJM-T1 and i would like to set up a few of my hot cue or fx to simulate that. What functions are thos pads triggering when you hit them?

I have my speakers plug into the master out 2 and i am gettin nowhere. I have unplugged the table and the music plays thru my mac. I have the red and white cables plugged directly into my bose receiver and still no sound from the table? I feel like im missing somethin so ez.

In regards to the audio output. I plugged in an rca to aux plug into the mast output 2 and no sound was being emitted. And the auxilary plug was plugged into a 2 speaker bose system with a sub woofer attached. Is there something i need to change in serato to let the sound come out or if im hookin it up wrong.

Nice controller, but the Numark NS7 II is the best, i kno you probably just got this but as you go along you'll see what I'm trying to say here. Main reason i don't like it the Jog wheels is too stiff sucks if your trying to spin out a song plus there is a few more things i don't like about this controller, i had bought my ddj sx when it first came out i sold it and got the Numark NS7 II which is a beast of a controller.

Well, a negative thing is that the DDJ-SX is like 1 machine, the 350 are 3 different pieces so if I want to replace the mixer with a 4 channel one, i can do it with the 350, but not with the DDJ-SX if you know what i mean

kynlin flagg If you are on a Windows machine, make sure you have your drivers setup correctly and you download the latest driver from the Pioneer DJ website. then restart Serato DJ and the DDJ-SX should be recognized when connected via USB. Make sure you have the power connected and also try another USB port on the computer to see if it helps.

@ DJBooth.. I have DDJ SX and I'm using on acer windows 10 and I have realized I can't mix videos using Serato. Can Virtual DJ connected to DDJ SX do the job? I tried but after every 10 minutes it disconnects.

Yes it will work with VDJ, BUT you need to purchase the full edition of VDJ pro... The free one only works for 10 minutes at a time...

I am impressed with the DDJ-SX with all the features it has, my only concern is its sturdyness, The unit is contructed out of durable plastic and not having a case around it seems like it would get damaged easily, The numark NS7 (2) that is due to release is a BEAST and made to last, and has "Touch" sensitive controls. How will the DDJ-SX stand up to it?
