I spent a month in Pangrati in an Airbnb and loved it! You missed the fantastic art gallery beside the church you mentioned… The Basil & Elise Goulandris Foundation has a fantastic collection there of both famous international and Greek artists . Bus and tram stop right at the door from the city. Varnova and Proskopon Squares are both fantastic with heaps of cafes to sit at and people watch. 95% Greek with only a few tourists. Very safe area to wander day and night.

Thank you for showing us different places in Athens. I stayed for a week in October with friends in Melissia. Of course I only had time to see Melissia and the citycentre. But I love the town and it is good to get tips where to have a look the next time I will be there again.

Good Evening. your walk is very nice. in the first Athens Cemetery you visited, important personalities are usually buried, such as prime ministers, heroes of the Greek revolution, actors and others. there is also the well-known sculpture of the talented Halepa.the name of the sculpture is the sleeping woman, by Giannoulis Halepas

Love these neighborhood tour videos. Thanks for making it! If you are considering requests - I used to live in Papagou (a _long_ time ago) would be cool to see that, as well as neo psychio (where my school was) and the Glyfada / Elliniko area where the U.S. airbase used to be, as well as the officers club etc. I was a kid but have a lot of memories of that area... Can't wait to go back someday.

Thank you for the tours -- I'm not familiar with either of these neighborhoods, and I don't think I've ever seen them mentioned in many city guides. I also wonder how Mets go its name -- it doesn't sound Greek ... unless it was shortened from a longer word.

The word comes from the Bavarian man who resided in the area and had a beer house. Athens was governed by the Bavarians at some point.
