The Photonis Echo has excellent high light performance. Gen 3 thin film is close, and filmless (from my own experience) is behind the others in high light performance. The thing is that even a SiOnyx Aurora will produce a good image in high light conditions such as those shown here and the Aurora has HDR, so you don't get the glow around bright lights that is typical of NV gear.

Contrast on the photonis is so good.

I love the fact that your gen2+ tube has better FOM than my two WP "Gen 3" tubes from AGM

The lighting conditions definitely favor the ECHO tube. The Gen 3 would be a more noticeable improvement in lower light environments.

wow looks good man. I have a question, I am from Europe and getting a legit gen 3 here is almost impossible (very very difficult) So a guy sells your unit in a PVS14 housing for 4k dollars. Would you take it as your first NVG? I live in a city mixed with rural areas. Thanks!

@Photonisdefense: I have two 4G (not Echo) tubes in two MUM-housings. Regarding the optics/coatings/optics-tubematch-"discussion": Are the MUM-lenses ok. for Photonis 4G-types or do they kill a significant %tage of their potential? Others with any knowledge about this topic are also welcomed to give their opinion.

@@andrewshaio1181not true. 16mm tubes extremely poor with Carson lenses. 36 FOV and limited IR transfer. Thats the only reason why i dont buy 16mm lenses. Not compatible with Carson.

Hey, just wanna ask if the color of the echo looks true in this video as it does in real life because some videos make it look more blue and some make it look quite close to white.
@awiseseal7559 Жыл бұрын
@Photonis Defense, Inc. Since I commented this I purchased a Photonis Echo and I can say it's definitely more blue initially but then goes closer to light blue. I definitely agree most don't adjust white balance correctly, especially if it was filmed on a phone. Overall, very impressed with the tube haha, beats my old one for sure.
@aesthetic8780 Жыл бұрын
In high light, its blue. In low light, its grey. And this is good! Because you can see more in very low low light when the screen is grey.
