I found her music watching the Netflix series Dark (I listened to “Familiar” 30 times over the same day I first heard it on the show) and have been in love with her music ever since. So much in fact it played a big role in inspiring me to learn to play piano. I’m still a beginner and struggle playing some of her music fluently with 2 hands but, omg actually being to play it all is a sublime feeling. With enough practice I’ll get there. I haven’t started learning it yet, but I have the sheet music for this song already printed. It makes learning an instrument so rewarding.

Agnes' ability to evoke deep thought and raw emotion with her music is a testament to not only the power of music, but Agnes' mastery of it. This song makes me feel very many things all at once, and it hurts, but in the best way. It almost projects a crystal clear picture into my mind of a specific setting and subject. This song is almost cinematic, if not melancholy and slightly ominous.

Wanted to share this festival memory, because I just shared it on my personal facebook as well. For me and my friends, Agnes Obel is one of those many artists and bands you know from only one song (in this case: Riverside). So when she was scheduled to appear at Rock Werchter 2014, my friends and me thought: "Well, let's watch this for at least 5 minutes to see if she's more than just that one song. And if not, there are other shows and artists to see". So we went in the big tent. We were there at the beginning of the show, and at the end of the show my friends and I still stood there, with our jaw very close to the floor. One of the best shows of that year, and one that is etched in our memory - probably for a long time.

Starting 4:27 hits something for me. I remember riding an overnight bus from the small mountain town in Japan that I'd lived in back to Tokyo for the last time and looking out the window and as this part came on we got high enough up the mountain where you could see over the peaks and the sky was just LITTERED with stars. The universe felt close enough to touch and this song, that movement in particular always brings that image back.

I can feel the vibrations of my soul, (I feel alive, leaving the burden of living behind) when listening to Agnes Obel...

I can't get over the fact that this is live. Even video evidence isn't enough proof. AMAZING

perhaps the sound of the pedal switching on at 0:39 will do.

a few mistakes in there, but they just reminded me that it was indeed live. and reminded me just how amazing it is.

Well now that you have said it is live then in fact it really must be live, without you many of us would be at a loss as to if this was "Live" or not.

ich bin ein berliner...has amazing listeners too.

don't think the sound is live entirely, only if the plucking of the strings was sent on a loop, but they clearly started plucking an then switched.... so its either a loop or edited

I love this song. Deep within my bones, something about it's core is additive to my soul. However, it is not just a song but a truth that no one has yet to realize. It's the lullaby of our nightmare.

This woman, her music, her voice are otherworldly. I first heard her music on Dark, then asked my teenage daughter if she had heard of Agnes and she said "Of course!" and shared many other songs. I became an instant fan. It gives me peace, joy, sadness and comfort all at the same time. I will never tire of her music and can hardly wait to experience her live.
