I'm not 72 lol I'm alone...in a battered auld caravan...in the Scottish Highlands... It's after midnight...on a pink moon and the peak of the lyrids meteor shower 😍 and this is the theme tune I chose for tonight's movie for one... I'm heading out to look at the pink moon and catch a few shooting stars. Couldn't make this perfection up lol. Pure bliss 😁♥️😎

I was walking home in Edinburgh to that song one night, after a late library session in the middle of the winter. Snow was falling and the streets were eerily empty so it just fit perfectly. Just as I was about to arrive I met a fox under these old pedestrian lights, its footprints imprinted in the snow, watching me. I remember staying there a while, thinking how peaceful this was. Perfect song, perfect moment.

Age is a state of mind. We can be young and feel old, we can be old and feel young. We can just be! I'm 66 years old and though my body is not as spirited as it used to be, my mind is as perky as ever. Music like this does wonders to my soul, heavenly spheres come to me when hearing songs like this. Butterflies produce in my belly, my imaginations strays. Music does that! Art does that! Beauty does that! The older I get the more that child in me comes out, I'm not the man I used to be. I first heard this song on radio a few years ago and never found out who it was. Recently I thought of this song again, just out of the blue it came to me. And here within a few days I happen upon it on KZbin, having no clue whatsoever the name of the group, it popped up I clicked it on! Call that synchronous call it what you will, it was meant for me to know who this was, to hear this song again! I needed to hear this these moments! I do not believe in coincidences!

We need to tend to the wounded. The human soul is at odds with itself, conflicted and suffering. We ignore the tired, drug-addicted, homeless suffering on the streets, hoping it will simply go away. That problem will not heal itself; it requires action, in inspiration from our artists who have become god-like in their castles and disconnected from their people. Say nothing of our leaders, because they are even worse. What do we do? I start with myself, trying to heal the city I call home--Seattle. I start in 3 days working downtown on the streets and alleyways where I once hurt and played. I do it for love of humanity, to preserve whatever precious good still remains. Great Song.

I don't even remember the first time I heard this song, must be in high school about 8 years ago, but I've never lost this recondite connection to it. I grew up drifting through many different periods in my life, moved to another country, changed lifestyles, views, friends and looks, but throughout all these years this song meant a lot to me, it soothed me and reconnected with my deepest essence, let me feel the unfathomable force of creation and hear the eternal call of emptiness from the deeps. It guided me through lonely walks in all kinds of places around the world and inside my head. It covered me with an invisible blanket on the darkest night and lulled me to sleep. And now I'm here to listen to this song one more time on the eve of my 23rd birthday so as to wrap up one more year of my life and return to what's most important. Thank you, Fever Ray, thank you for writing a score for my life.
