AbbA is my favorate band forever and Agnetta is an example of beauty despite years! In the 80s, when there was no so sharp globalization, Sweden was better than now. And styles were better! I miss THAT GOLDEN TIMES of ABBA, they will remain in my heart like the best in Europe history!

I always feel sorry for Frida when Agnetha, Bjorn & Benny are seen with or talk about their parents and familes. All three had stable loving and supportive families. Frida's childhood was the opposite. Raised by a strict and distant grandmother, who worked long hours as seamstress to make ends meet. Leaving Frida alone, a latchkey kid. Frida started to sing and her grade school teachers noticed her vocal talent. She swept all the talent hunts. Took to the stage in 1956. Pro at 13, 1958. As a child she and her grandmother never had enough money. She she decided she was gonna be a singer so she could buy some candy and never have to worry about being poor. Her grandmother died in 1970, who never once came to see Frida sing/perform. ___________ Frida never knew her mom, as she died before Frida was 2. Frida was told as a little girl, her German soldier father was killed in 1945 at end of war. Frida was conceived the first week in Feb 1945. Born Nov 1945. Frida, was an unwanted "war baby" in Norway -- offspring of a German soldier and Norwegian girl. So she was taken to Sweden by her strict and distant grandmother. The move was to protect her against any reprisals and to give her a chance of a decent life. _________ In 1977 @ age 32, Frida was told her father was alive. His German son read a profile in a magazine on ABBA and Frida. Frida's parents full names were printed. The son then confronted his dad. His dad acknowledged he had relations with Synni Lyngstad, Frida's mom, in Norway during the war. His son, after further research presented a full ABBA/Frida poster to his dad and said..... "this is your daughter, Anni-Frid Lyngstad of ABBA!" He claims he did not know he fathered a child in Norway. When Frida was told her father was alive, she passed-out upon hearing the news. Her only connection to her mother and father were pictures. She carried around a picture of her German father in his uniform her whole life, which was given to her by her grandmother and Norwegian aunt Olivia. After verification, Benny arranged a meeting in Stockholm. Benny and friend picked up Frida's dad at the airport, while Frida waited at home. Frida then met her father and broke down in tears. She finally got some kind of physical connection to one of her parents after 32 years. _________ During ABBA years, Frida was hounded by the media trying to piece together her life story. She has never told her full life story except to confirm or deny things the media has reported about her life. Bjorn, once touched on Frida's remarkable life story, by acknowledging that Frida's life story is a hard to believe rags to riches story. Frida became a huge success in all aspects of her life: in music, business, real estate, became a Princess, founded charity for neglected and lonely children, design ski wear. A remarkable life story that has been talked about for a Swedish biopic. It probably will never happen as she has never given rights for a book/movie deal. In Switzerland, her primary residence, she is always listed as one of Switzerland's wealthiest in those "wealthiest list" articles. No one knows her actual net worth. Some believe she a worth a billion or so. She is known to have the Midas touch in her business venture's.

Yes poor Frida has had it tough. Also, she was a teenage mom giving birth to her son Hans at 17. Shortly after she married the father Ragnar Friedrickson who played trombone in the jazz band she sang in (most likely they were pressured into marriage as if you became pregnant out of wed lock you were often expected to do so) they were married for 6 years and also had a daughter. Her story could be a movie for sure. As good as a lebensborn child , to orphan, to teen mom and wife, to singing sensation, to royalty

Hi, I'm Swedish so I'll do a short summary for you of what they were saying. To begin with I will just tell you that this old Swedish tv show had star guests visiting and the host went through their lives with them, from childhood up to present day. The show host that inteviews her says to her that he knows that when she was only a little girl she and her father wrote a song together, and she says, yes, we did. Then the host tells her how much he loves her and then he surprise her with her father coming on stage. She didn't know her father was there. She gets very emotional over singing the song they made together. After the song the show ends and she is given flowers as you can see. As a Swede I can tell you that she is a very private, shy and humble person, so a glimpse into her life was very rare. That's it in short.

@danbike9 Жыл бұрын
Yes. But they never connected as father daughter. Frida was 32. She said she cared about him, but said how can you get a father at age 32. Her entire childhood was lost. No mom and dad. Mom, Synni Lyngstad (1926-1947) died Sep 1947 after falling ill. Kidney poising was official cause of death. Those familiar with the story think Synni was murdered/poisonedfor her relationship with Alfred Hasse. Who was presumed killed in 1945. For 32 years Frida thought her dad was dead. Then boom 1977. Put your yourself in Frida's shoes as a little girl being told that you have no mom and dad and what happened, the war, etc... and on top of that, she can't go back to Norway to live. She must have felt like nobody wanted her. Poor little Frida.

6 May 2024 ~ So very heart-warming , mild , sincere and fresh . I like the absence of English sub-titles , I like to look at the body-language and listen to the spoken language . ABBA was the real " Fabulous Foursome " , in so many ways . I am 61 , I remember them " back in the days " of our American , European , and Scandanavian youth . They were sincere souls , maybe we all were sincere young people , back then .
