@@fahadkhokhar6745 The only point she wasn´t open to was acceptance that everyone relies on testimony and calls it science or facts nowadays. I think its understandable that this particular point went over her head cuz it´s so common and only few people even think about it and notice. For example: When you go and take a dna test to prove paternity yyou won´t say: i rely on the testimony of the dna scientist and the testimony of the peer group which gives him credentials. You will say: I rely on science to prove paternity. Maybe it´s the first time she is confronted with this type of argument after a life full of people telling her that the scientific method is the only way of gaining knowledge and establishing truth. Sometimes it´s hard and takes time to change the way we think. In the following conversation she listened respectfully when brother Muhammad helped her with some misconceptions she had about Islam and thanked him for clarification. May Allah guide her and us!

Not really, she got defensive and argumentative in the start, since she's probably an ex-christian, and still believes that all religions are based on faith, since that's what she was taught as a christian, and so even though she's now an atheist, she has a hard time letting go of that, so she started fixating on and being obtuse about the larger discussion of epistemology since she didn't WANT to acknowledge that there's more to Islam than blind faith, like in Christianity, as a result the Brother was unable to pull her away from her requirements of naturalistic proofs (experiments and 5 senses) to other forms of knowledge as in theoretical physics (Maths, Logic, Rationality) and Testimony (like in History and Science), as such he had to give up on trying to prove the existence of GOD and answered side questions instead, and in the end she is no where closer since she doesn't even believe in GOD yet, so it's all pointless. She needs to re watch this when calm, and with an open mind and try understand what the Brother was actually saying, not about the intricacies of the example itself. then she needs to come back and have this conversation again, properly.

What really convincing me is the death of my family member. Allah says in the Quran (Surah al-Waqiah), if you're truthful that you are outside control of God, then return back that soul that has gone while you're witnessing that death in front of you. Allah says in the Quran to the mankind. Why don't the people looks to the skies, the mountains, the earth, the sun, the moon, the trees, the animals, the nature and even our own body. Don't they ponder and reflect? There are so many signs from God.

I like this lady. She just had some misconceptions, but was very receptive for the answers.

She is still confused and being obstinate regarding epistemology, and was arguing rather than listening, trying to defend Atheism when the Br.was talking about Testimony and the different avenues of knowledge, so that he could wean her away fro her naturalistic requirements for GOD (Science experiments of human contact) to Logic and rationality as a valid form of knowledge , then do the Kalam and Contingency arguments, and expand with Testimony and scripture. But she kept arguing over the example so that entire conversation was dropped, she is still no where closer to Islam, since she still doesn't believe in GOD yet. she needs to re watch the conversation and slowly try understand what was being said to her, then return to have the conversation without the argumentative stance. She is probably an ex-Christian, who grew up being taught that religion is all about blind faith, since the trinity makes no sense, she became an atheist and is applying the same Christian lens to Islam, she deep down believes ALL religions are illogical like Christianity, she needs some time to grow out of that, and realize that Islam and Christianity are not the same religion, that we do not have the same problems as Christians and that Islamic theology is very different.

The Quran doesn't mention the shape of the earth, but it does indicate flatness, when describing it.

It doesn't, in surah الغاشيه(surah 88), verse 17-20, Allah says: أَفَلَا يَنظُرُونَ إِلَى الْإِبِلِ كَيْفَ خُلِقَتْ (17) وَإِلَى السَّمَاء كَيْفَ رُفِعَتْ (18) وَإِلَى الْجِبَالِ كَيْفَ نُصِبَتْ (19)وَإِلَى الْأَرْضِ كَيْفَ سُطِحَتْ(20) Allah speaks about things that can be observed with the human eye, such as camels (and how they were created), the sky (and how it was raised up), mountains (and how they were erected). all such are visible to you without needing equipment or anything similar, the word "ارض" can have two meanings, the first being earth, as in the planet, and the second being earth as in the ground we walk on. Depending on the context here, which is things observed by the naked eye, its unlogical to refer to the word "ارض" as in the planet earth. We cant observe the planet itself. Therefore Allah here is speaking specifically about the ground, and how it visibly seems to you as if its flat. Another example, In Surah الزمر (surah 39) Verse 5, Allah says: خَلَقَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ بِالْحَقِّ ۖ يُكَوِّرُ اللَّيْلَ عَلَى النَّهَارِ وَيُكَوِّرُ النَّهَارَ عَلَى اللَّيْلِ ۖ وَسَخَّرَ الشَّمْسَ وَالْقَمَرَ ۖ كُلٌّ يَجْرِي لِأَجَلٍ مُّسَمًّى ۗ أَلَا هُوَ الْعَزِيزُ الْغَفَّارُ (5) Specifically ‎يُكَوِّرُ اللَّيْلَ عَلَى النَّهَارِ وَيُكَوِّرُ النَّهَارَ عَلَى اللَّيْلِ Allah is speaking about how he wraps the night over the day and wraps the day over the night. The word "ُيُكَوِّر" is a continuous tense of the verb "َكَوَر" which generally means in a spherical motion, the word ball in arabic "كُرَه" is actually derived from this verb. Now, Allah couldve used any other verb to explain the process, but he used this verb specifically, which i think is quite self explanatory.❤❤

I'm getting the sense that some people choose to question God by being an agnostic or atheist just to be cool. You know like "We're thinking about this, we're smarter than you blind followers" . Which is ironic because a lot of them ended up getting lost and confused. Meanwhile us Muslims we know what we're doing with the Quran & Sunnah as guidelines, and life a purposeful life.
