My village is near to Semmangudi & Arasavanagadu.More than half of Agraharams are empty.Myself, Indian Christian, miss our Aiyers especially (Vathimans).Our combined Thanjavur Dt villages lost their charm ,graciousness, honesty, preservation of water canals,tanks & temples after many Aiyer & Ayyangar families left for Indian metropolitan cities , U.S.& Europe.Still, it's heartening to see & enjoy old world charm through your videos. Pls keep your good work.

Ms Venkat : A very beautiful video. In under 9 minutes you managed to provide a tour of 3 beautiful homes. The one thing that was concerning for me, personally, was - in the 3rd house undergoing renovation, the roof underneath the tiles and exposed to the living area appeared to be made out of asbestos. I was under the impression that most countries, including India, have stopped using asbestos because of its serious adverse effects on one's health, especially lungs. I hope I am mistaken in my assumption of the roof material. Thanks for a wonderful video

If it is asbestos, instead of tearing down everything and spending lots money, there may be cheaper options like some heavy paint or even those expanding foam that can be applied to prevent (or reduce) the fibers from raining down constantly. This is not my field of expertise. A reputable residential builder should be able to come up with good solutions - Good Luck.
