Selfing wouldn't be of any use because we would get a resistance variety but characters of A won't be there... It would be a waste of one year.

We make 99 percent original gene of the plant and only 1 percentage gene is rust resistance gene. We do only selfing we can't make a original gene in the new variety. So we done a 5 to 6 time backcross

Sir, at 11:04, the progeny of 4th year should not be selected due to rust susceptible but in ur 5th year, u did a wrong, it is F3, not BC3, it is not possible.
