@@Minanonn Everyone glorifies the soldier, the medic however is glorified by the soldiers he looks after. They fight to win on the battlefield, the medic fights to keep them alive from death itself and every soldier knows it. They may not always like him, may hate the checkups and such, but every last soldier will DEMAND a complete cleansing strike upon a location if the medic gets so much as a scratch from the enemy. In Afghanistan a unit's medic took a shot in the arm while dragging a guy to safety, the unit did not ask, they outright demanded a 'danger close' strike to wipe the bastards off the face of the earth. Command denied them until they heard their medic was shot, permission was granted almost immediately. 'Danger close' means there is a good chance you will get hit by your own ordinance, the group did not care, they wanted the enemy dead by any means. The medic heard this and got everyone to take cover in a location with proper cover. Yes, the enemy, the buildings around the enemy, and the nearby hill that could have been used as a spotter place by the enemy were completely obliterated. The topography of the region changed as that hill became a crater from the amount of ordinance sent. You do NOT mess with a medic.

I'm loving that ending of "How did he even mark you?!" I'm guessing since the man was a conscientious objector and didn't physically fight he had more of his soul to give to wounded soldiers and just beat the living crap out of death. I'm guessing he just kept punching the same spot each time death came to take one of the 75 men he saved. All those blows finally left there mark on Death.
