José Guadalupe Posada is the most important mexican artist of modern times: he gave to Rivera, Khalo, Orozco, Siqueiros and many others,the ground to understand the ‘mexican symbolism’, syncretism and our idiosyncrasies. It didn’t make the fuss of Frida, Rivera, but Posada is The Guy to understand the graphical culture of Mexico: every Día de Muertos’s t-shirt, postal card, ‘Papel Picado’ scene, political cartoon is a voluntary or not tribute to Posadas The Genius.

We enjoy your videos so much. At the beginning of this year we spent 40 days in Mexico. Started in Ajijac, then Chapala, Tequila, from there I took a cab by myself to Magdalena and was able to convince a mine owner to let me mine opals for the day. After Tequila we stayed in historic Guadalajara for a few days. Throughout our travels people kept telling us we needed to see Guanajuato, so on the day we were to come home decided to extend our trip. My husband hired a young driver to take us all the way. Guanajuato is spectacular. Everyone should watch your video about it. I could go on and on about that trip. But we are booked for a second trip. We have one way tickets leaving the U.S. December 29. We will be in no hurry to rush home as we already have snow at our house and by then we could have snow up to the rafters. The first part of our trip is planned and booked. First stop is Mazatlan for New Years (5 days), then Ajijic (7 days), Guadalajara (7 days), Fly to Mexico City (+/- 14 days). From there ????? We were thinking perhaps Oaxaca and then from there fly to somewhere in the Yucatan. Then spend a month making our way down to Belize. If you have the time, I'd love to know where you would go back to if you were taking our path. Also I would love to surprise my sweet husband with an adventure or 2 or 3 along the way... Any ideas? I'm willing to do just about anything except skydiving, cliff jumping, ect. lol. Thank you for all your funny, honest, information packed videos. We wish you all the best. Safe travels.

You guys are the best part of my Sunday morning! I’m curious. Sometimes you use local guides and sometimes not. When do you choose to use a guide?
@TheCountryCollectors2 жыл бұрын
Hi! We use a guide when it’s needed. More so just in places you have to have a guide or where they can offer us a lot of great info.

Hey Guys, I’m glad you enjoyed your stay! I was born and raised in AGS. Now living in OC Ca. Watching your video brought me so many memories. I went to the elementary school right next to Museo de Aguascalientes, across the street from La iglesia de San Antonio. 😎 Saludos, un fuerte abrazo! Viva Aguascalientes!!

visited AGU for 7 days this past summer since short direct flights from Texas. my favorite restaurant was El Atrio: authentic and recently relocated to AGU from SLP. I also liked Mesquite at the hot springs. Both were expensive by Mexico standards, but not bad by U.S. prices. My favorite bfast spot La Mestiza Yucatana that shown in video. Finally, someone who will serve me authentic chilaquiles, not a version for tourists. In general, i thought the food was better than most touristy parts of Mexico, and cheaper than QRO or other ex pat destinations since this is not a U.S. tourist hot spot so caters more to Mexican clientele, which I really prefer if I'm leaving the U.S.
