The overall height will be the same, but you have too take into account slot depth as well. Some squires I’ve worked on have had very shallow slots and others have been more than the width of the strings.

Favourite slipknot riff today is the same as it was over 20 years ago… the ending of eyeless when they slow it down… Fucking death in the pit every time and you can’t help but smile as you bash into everyone. Even Corey’s screams get extra heavy there - perfect example of the beautifully destructive sound of slipknot at their best. Great video as always - such a hilarious yet awesome idea for a mod project!

This is an awesome "little" project! Would be perfect for my son who needs a smaller scale instrument but loves metal. I'm gonna have to go back to the self titled album for my favorite riff. Surfacing. The intro tap bend and trill just pulls you into the song immediately, and then the finger gymnastics of the interlude with all the crazy downpicking speed just screams METAL!

I always love these mod project vids. Im curious how the short scale feels in comparison to the gibson scale, as that is my preference. Intro psychosocial is my favorite slipknot riff even though I can't play it lol. Absolutely love the blue jazzmaster. I came across this video searching for this guitar because I'm thinking about saving up to buy it, but now hopefully I'll win it if it's not too late!!!! :) I used to Own a 63' jazzmaster USA that was my grandmothers that has been passed down to me. Unfortunately it was stolen out of storage alone with other sentimental things and I never got it back nor caught the theif. I always swore to myself since that day that my next guitar would be another Jazzmaster even though I know it won't be American. I've played just about every king of make and model of guitar out there at some point and I can truly say that 63' jazz was the smoothest and most comfortable guitar I've ever played. naturally sounded so perfect in my opinion, it was unlike guitar before honest to God. My Dad has an 82' Strat USA and the Jazz still in my opinion is the better guitar. The strat is the most versatile and has the BEST middle position ever, and sounds amazing with some reverb and a little gain. But the jazz is just so comfortable and sounds amazingly no matter position.

My favorite riff is a toss up between opening riff for duality and the beginning of disasterpiece, I love all the crazy sounds he gets on that one. That mini JM would look perfect next to my full size in the same(ish) color 😬

High Intergrety projects are always fun - and I love that it's not random, you have well chosen parts and a good idea of what you want out of the end of it. To be honest - take it back up to DropD and use the Drop pedal (like I would if I won it) - plus then a few cosmetics as you pointed out yourself. Psychosocial is the riff that always gets me going.
@TrickyPickins3 жыл бұрын
High Integrity is the series that hooked me onto your channel. I'm glad I was around to see this one come out. I love you videos, never stop! 🤘 (Edit: I don't know how to play any slipknot songs, but the main riff to Psychosocial is so fun to listen to)

Love the guitar, i gotta say my favorite slipknot riff has to be the Psychosocial beginning riff. The pinch harmonics but the heavy tuning and tones are just insane and as a diehard Pantera fan it rolls up a lot of Dimebag into a much heavier package in just one riff. Although an overplayed riff, fun to listen and play nonetheless. keep up the work 🔥
@ryansamson44133 жыл бұрын
My favorite Slipknot riff to play would probably be the main riff in Eyeless! When you announced this project I dug up my old mini strat (and it's pink!), so even If I don't win I'll probably try to do my own mini metal squier mod! Having two as set would be great too though :p

Best slipknot riff in my opinion is the opening to Heretic Anthem. Strings dropped so low they said hi to Satan, and chunk for days. Not their most melodic riff, but melody isn’t needed when they bash in your head with the rhythmic brick that is Jim Root and Mick Thompson’s guitar riffs.

Favorite Slipknot riff for me has gotta be the main riff from People = Shit. Somehow Slipknot came back meaner and heavier after the self-titled album and overcame the pressure of a post 9/11/01 release. The way that riff comes out swinging to open the album is what we needed at the time🤘🏼 Wishing everyone luck on entry for this sick guitar!

Absolutely nailed it with this Didn’t think of it but in retrospective Jim Root style mods seems like the obvious and only choice for that junior Jazzmaster
@jameslewis26353 жыл бұрын
Cool mod project. I would want to finish it off with some black nuts on the tuners and possibly some black replacements for the tuner adjustment heads. It would just tie in the whole chrome and black hardware theme. A black ring on the switch as well as a switch tip and black nut on the socket would also help towards that. Otherwise it may look better to switch out the controls for something like a dark chrome pair (rare but they are like a chromed black effect which I think would be really cool on a guitar with a black on chrome hardware theme). Of course all these mods would make much more sense on a full size Jazzmaster but still worth it for the Slipknot fan on a budget.

To start, I'll admit to knowing 0 Slipknot songs, and just tell you my favorite extreme metal riff instead: "The Tongue Of Fire" by Emperor at 1:50. Absolutely majestic, melodic, and just plain interesting. I think the only changes I'd make to this are black knobs and switch tip. I usually play in D, but I'd probably go up to Eb for greater stability and less noise.

Have a hello kitty mini-strat, (complete with matching strap, lol),. Three squire single coil pickups. Amazingly,..it gets used on certain tracks more than you'd expect. In dense mixes, the short neck can be a good thing as it doesn't have as many overtones as a longer scale, (like comparing a grand to an spinet I guess). Less is better sometimes in dense mixes. In fact,...sometimes I think it outdoes a strat at doing the straty thing. It shows up on recordings like crazy. The kicker? - bone stock. Oh yeah - bridge pickup can add a great rock contrast to humbuckers. Because of short scale - strings feel like rubber bands with standard gauge strings.
