So glad I watched this. I am somewhat new to this game and love this helicopter. I have watched a lot of useless videos of people figuring it out, instead of figuring it out and then making a video. You taught me so many things I didn't know. The little things, that help out a lot. IE: Sea level v radar/ground level. Very nicely done. Thank you for taking the time and sharing with us

Really great video hopefully I can get all this great information to work for me next time I jump into this aircraft! I’ve been struggling with the takeoffs, landings, and hovering. Sometimes I do really well but realize I was just lucky. This video seems to make things make sense to me.

as far as i know the ball above the tads box on the hud is in relation to weather or not the aircraft is flying in trim if the ball is inside the 2 vertical lines i heard that in a casmo vid (irl apache pilot/dcs apache pilot) but im not an expert thats just a basic explanation so dont quote me

If the ball is between the lines the aircraft is flying in aerodynamic trim. In aerodynamic trim the aircraft (especially the apache because of the large, offset tail rotor) will fly like it's "crabbing". The flight path indicator (FPI) will be off to the side of the aircraft, generally to the right on North American craft. The other "trim mode" if you will, is nose to tail trim. AKA, you use the pedals to keep the FPI in line with the spine off the front of the nose. In the case of the Apache, this would be used in treetop level flying, where you wouldn't want to make your horizontal profile larger than necessary by having the tail kicked out to the left or right

@@MyKillerson ahhh alright yea I’m still learning helicopter aerodynamics it’s a very foreign concept to me but I’ve been flying the Huey and gazelle in dcs to understand helicopters better before I work my way up to the Apache but this is a much better explanation than what I understood

@@TheFerretsWheels funny somebody mentioned this cuz i've been watching quite a few of your vids to help me figure out VTOL and i friggin love your voice lmao I mean this in the best way but to me it fits the ferret in the top right perfectly and i always imagine a lil ferret in the cockpit with a helmet on helping me along while i figure out how to trim out my AH-94 😂 love the content!

Nice information! But I got a question you mentioned about going 200 knots ish in the heli how would I do that? I have only been able to get around 100 ish knots, thanks!

Check your units in the Game menu on the MFDs. If you are topping out at just over 100 on the ASI then you probably have it set to M/S

It takes a good while to reach 200kts, especially if you're flying heavy

Hold the top collective handle (combat collective. Hold the trigger and press the thumb button. Turning control labels in options can help in the AH-94

There is one collective, with 2 grips. This is accurate to the Irl apache. The ran out of buttons on the first one, so they just slapped on another.

When you can fly a Heli in DCS with full vr controll but this one is terrible and always crash a lot that has to be done to it
