Actually, Mitch is NOT a counter-tenor. No one is. Counter-tenor is a voice PART, not a voice TYPE. You can SING counter-tenor, but you cannot BE a counter-tenor. Just like you can SING Alto, but you cannot BE an alto (most people who sing alto are mezzo-sopranos). You can SING Bass 2, but you cannot BE a Bass 2, you are a bass or a bass-baritone, or just someone who has been put down there even though you're a higher voice, bless your heart XD. "Counter-tenors" are usually baritones that sing in the upper register of their voice, which is called "falsetto". When singing a solo or part written for "counter-tenor" it simply means it is written for a man to sing in the tessitura of a mezzo-soprano or contralto.

+Nathaniel Thompson Technically speaking, I sing tenor in choir but have a strong falsetto. I can go to G#5 if I try hard enough, so I can sing counter-tenor with easy control over it.

No, he's not. He's a light tenor, there's a big difference, but it's subtle. Countertenors' voices are completely female, but Mitch has a lower male range. He said himself that he's a tenor.

Hannah DelVecchio Countertenors have the range of altos, not sopranos. There is a huge difference between an alto and a soprano.
