Warrior Within combat system was so amazing it had it's own trailer. It's a shame Ubisoft never explored more the idea, imagine an AC with this system. It looks cool, makes you feel like a badass, lets you interact with the environment and the enemies like no other combat system at that time, and let you choose how to proceed during those fights. The simple action of just grabing an enemy gives you like six different outcomes depending on you having or not a secondary weapon and how you want to proceed in the fight.
@A.A.L.V.L7 ай бұрын
The fact that only ww has that combat system makes it so unique and marked within Ubisoft. At this point I can't imagine an AC having a combat system that barely manages to keep up with Warrior Within 😂

Hopefully, they have Yuri stay for the whole thing this time (why he didn’t voice this edgier Prince, I won’t know but I’m sure he’s played brooding characters before so him voicing the Prince in his darker moments still would’ve worked and also I kinda would’ve imagined him sounding more like Sasuke eventually)
@brokemono10 ай бұрын
@@dellebelphine-moralez3510He can try and I think he even was auditioning for it but they wanted prince to sound deeper and older. I think if they remake princeWW and make him 27 years old or something then it's probably best for Robin to do it, otherwise if they make him younger then go for Yuri. T2T because of people stupidly asking back for it made the prince sound weird now.😂 For changes like that, it's best to just swallow the pain and look forward to other stuff.
@dellebelphine-moralez351010 ай бұрын
@@brokemono he did sound weird in The Two Thrones and actually you’re right, The Prince having a lower voice plus Robin voicing him onwards would’ve worked as well. Or hell, because the Prince was talking to his more darker persona, would’ve been perfect to have that disembodied voice sound like Warrior Within Prince (Robin)

Subbed. WW is my favorite Prince of Persia. It was the first one I played, and I was blown away by every part of it. Such a memorable game. I played sands of time after this, and was even a bit disappointed by how cartoonish and last-gen it looked and felt. The combat specifically, after playing WW is a letdown. Especially for the fact that people praise sands of time so much. It is still a master piece in my opinion, but Warrior Within have a special place in my heart.
@DesignDelve3 жыл бұрын
I have the same opinions on WW boss. What are you thoughts of TTT?
@13thxenos3 жыл бұрын
@@DesignDelve Wow you answered fast. While I quite enjoy receiving comment in youtube from the person who made the video, I hope your channel grow so much that you don't have time to do such a thing. This channel deserves a lot more subs. I enjoyed TTT, but it is my least favorite of the trilogy. I expected the combat to be better, after all, they had a ready-made template in WW to improve upon. But it was a disappointment IMO. I wasn't that fond of the enemies either. Farah was a lot better, and I agree with you that the character development was a lot better in TTT ( I just watched your third video) but the mysterious architecture of the island of time was missing, and the rush of getting a more powerful sword was not there. The only part I truly find amazing is the Dark Prince, especially the chain and its new mechanics. Cutting enemies in half with the chain was glorious when I first played this. Granted, I was a kid who shouldn't have played M-rated games. Another thing that disappointed me was the opening of this game. I remember trying hard to get the water sword as to not kill the empress but in 5 minutes of the third game they kill her off anyway. Shame. WW is something else. I still remember how hard I tried running away when Dhahaka showed up, like it would kill me instead of the Prince if it reached me.

@@13thxenosKaileena's quick death in TTT is a big turd on the players heads also because we both just changed our fates in WW and Prince was coming back to Babylon like a boss with the fucking Empress of time by his side no less. The way she went down was also ridiculous. TTT was developed for people who never played WW it feels like and would only be old enough to play it AFTER they've experienced TTT as a prequel which would make a lot of sense to me.

Great analysis mate!👍 Would like to add the following, for those who have a problem with the soundtrack/ambient music in this game; its melancholic, moody and heavy because it's meant to reflect the Prince State of mind and live in the storyline. At that moment he's being chased by the Dahaka for FREAKING SEVEN YEARS. Be honest. If that won't make you paranoid, moody and frightened; I don't know what will. The quest to stop the initial creation of the Sands of Time is his last hope to change his fate. A mission to avoid death by the hands of a terrifying creature. I think it's brilliant the way the music compliments the game. Nice mix of Arabian ambient and eastern influenced metal.

I feel like there was 1 wasted opportunity when it came to using cranks and levers to activate or move something in order to progress, and how it could have worked with the past/present timeline mechanics. 1 example is when the Prince goes to the library for the first time, and on a balcony above there are 2 bookcases that the Prince needs to pull out from their slots inside the wall, in order to climb them and progress. Later in the game, you return as the sand-wraith, and the bookcases are where you left them, even though this visit chronologically happens *before* the first visit. It would have been really interesting if certain puzzle sections in the game were chronologically already completed the first time you passed through that area. You're taking this path, not thinking twice about it, and progress. But you return later, at a point in time when a puzzle in the area had not yet been completed, and the path is no longer there, and the same way you want to go is no longer accessible. You recognise that your surroundings are different to how you remember, which hints at what you need to do to progress, if you can remember how certain parts of the "scenery" were before. You know that you can and have to re-create the path you took last time to progress this time, because now you are realising that this path you have taken before is a path that you have to create now.
@A.A.L.V.L7 ай бұрын
That would have really hindered and cut off the flow of the story moving forward, and if you know a little bit about cinematography, things like that are inexcusable. Although I also understand that it would have enriched the mechanics, but little by little, it's not worth it.

@@DesignDelve Thank you for the reply. Two thrones is also a decent game. In fact that was the first Prince of Persia I played 14 years ago. The environment, music, story and everything else were decent. Dark prince and Chariot missions are really nice unique additions. However, when I played Warrior within for the first time back then in 2019, it completely obliterated SoT and T2T in all aspects according to me. The story, semilinear gameplay, unexpected twists, edgy environment, engaging gore combat, metal music, etc. Everything was perfectly aligning with my taste. Hence warrior within is my favorite but T2T is also a pretty decent game though.

I can see where you’re coming from bro WW just hits differently 👌 are you excited for the remake of SoT?

The lack of Arabian nights theme in Warrior Within can be justified- because Prince goes on a mission to a different place(island) only to save his life - a different island which is more mysterious, where he faces Kaileena & Dahaka - so the culture, music can all be shown differently. It justifies.
@rubanvishnupandian17132 жыл бұрын
@@DesignDelve Sorry for the extremely late reply. I'm actually excited for the remake but just hoping that they won't change it very drastically. Of course, the graphics should be better but I don't want them to fiddle with the environment and art aspect of SoT too much. That's that game's primary strength. Also, a warrior within remake would be better as long as they preserve the original theme.

Even the PSP port of this game was great, they added extra levels, the part with the rotating staircases was so confusing, the dahaka is so damn scary!

I like the idea of warrior within like the prince facing the consequences of his actions Instead of just everything being fixed by rewinding everything and the new personality and atmospheres of the games make sense from a writing standpoint the prince was being chased by the dahaka for 6 years that's enough to make any man breaks

One of my favourite Games and i don't even like the other games in series really, the dsrk soundtrack atmosphere the past and then the decayed present was beautiful played it again recently and took me months of returning to the second shadee fight on hard

Definitely peak edge for sure! 😆. It's Sands OF Time, but now the prince has baditude!. I was in my mid 20s when this game was this was released and I DO remember how blown away I was that there was already a sequel to the first game. This was also when I was firmly a massive Ubisoft fan(especially after the first game and Beyond Good and Evil). Before they became the typical cliche AAA game publisher they are today, they actually used to put out a lot of quality original titles.

Love these videos man! The editing is great and I sometimes pause just to laugh at the jokes. If you welcome some feedback though, maybe stop with the bit where you make fun of the devs' last name? I'm not a dev but it feels kinda off to choose not to pronounce correctly the name of someone whose work you're, in the case of PoP, praising. No hate though! I really do love these videos and I'm excited to see what you have to say for The Two Thrones and how you react to it. This series was my childhood. Keep up the good work!

Glad you enjoyed it boss :) I appreciate the feedback and I completely understand it!

You're wrong about the cranks. the puzzle isn't the crank itself, the puzzle is how to get to (parkour) to that crank location. Those movement puzzles of figuring out how to jump to those locations were really really good. In SoT they used more wall-buttons than cranks, and perosnally a crank sounds way more realistic whereas a button feels more digital

I as kid was so amazed by ppww that blow my mind I always make something to play this game this was so hard core and stunishing for me Finding a moment and time for playing this game was always my priority Some times i miss the mistery that this game had it is time that new games never could achive even with so much grafics This game is so misterios so hard to finish even have two time lines in other words it has two ending I could atchive the bad ending that you kill the empress of time But the other one is you dont kill the empress of time and kill the dahaka with the water sword

@@DesignDelve I actually didn't knew the game was created in just a year, back in that time it was still possible to create great looking games in short times, but Ubisoft wanting to quickly milk the franchise surely took its damage in the dev side. I just hope the remake of 1 does well for the new dev team grab some of the older dev team to finally create their full vision for the second.

Despite the speed of development, POP WW is still perceived as a complete and holistic work, unlike the third POP TT and the first AC, when a large amount of content and mechanics were cut.

I recommend everyone who likes this game to play the PSP version!! It’s a lot longer and has a fuck ton more puzzles It the same game as the PS2 version but between 2 areas like the main hall and gardens they have added a whole new section with puzzles upon puzzles and it makes the game super difficult and fun !! Downside is that it’s on the psp so u might have to do emulation or try to get a psp

If you think warrior within doesn't have great puzzles than I recommend you Prince of Persia Revelations (PS2 version of WW) it has many unnecessary mindless & frustrating puzzles that'll make you uninstall the entire game, I remember one doorway puzzle was so stupid hard that I'd watch it's walkthrough on KZbin to solve it & I'm the one who never watches games walkthrough but I'd to regardless warrior within is one of the greatest game ever made it's so underrated & no doubt it holds a special place in my heart & is my favourite from Prince of Persia series

Dude, you deserve a million subs... I'm waiting for your two thrones (and kindred blades😅) video... I agree with you, had Ubisoft given devs an amulet of time, this game could've been winning against Assassin's Creed. This game has so FUCKING MANY glitches.

Best game in the series in my opinion. Sure it didn't have the puzzles from the first game but it just felt like a complete game to me. The world building felt real and you really felt that everything was connected. Music and combat were on point and the difficulty was just right for a casual playthrough. No deaths or traps felt really cheap or frustrating. One of the best games I've played from that generation. Sure it's not a masterpiece but that's the issue I have with games today, they all try too hard to be AAA when all we really want from a game is solid gameplay.

If you find The New Order to be your cup of tea, I would recommend jumping straight to Chronicles of Riddick Assault On Dark Athena. Honestly it does everything better than The New Order except the music.
